Reflections!

Hello my friends: Today in my time of reflection I turned to one of my favourite chapters Romans 5. Today I am sharing the first 12 verses. Romans 5:1-12 King James Version 5  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4  And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. 6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9...

Beauty of Creation!

Creations Beauty Sitting looking out my window pane, everything’s so beautiful and green, being washed and refreshed by the falling rain. A woodpecker is tapping on a dead pine, tap, tap, tap, what a hammering sound; a chipmunk, carrying a piece of bread, scurries across the ground. Yes, as I look out, all nature is alive! Leaves so green, flowers so pretty in blossom everywhere; tells me we have a creator, who really cares. He not only cares for our physical being, and because of His love, He wants our soul to be free, and all His spiritual blessings seeing. Yes, He wants to set us free, from our bondage of sin; He sent Jesus, His only Son, and by His sacrifice, complete victory could be won.

The Stream!

The Stream There is a crooked stream, running quiet and still, just half a mile, over that hill. One day last fall, there was a big rain, that old stream was raging, a rage no man could tame. It roared and rushed, took houses and land, where ever it went, it obeyed no command. Sometimes our life, is like that stream, all peaceful and calm, then comes trials, that explode like a bomb. We have a place, where we can go, to our Heavenly Father, who by His loving hand, soothes and calms, that raging stream, with one command, it obeys His will, as He speaks, Peace be still. –Winston Staples– Share this: face book, twitter

Setting Sail!

Setting Sail: Life is like a voyage, sailing across the sea, setting our sails, to find breezes to set us free. as we set sail, we find the sailing may be rough, the waves roaring high, visibility mighty tough. We discover it is so hard, to be captain of our ship, when we have an enemy, seeking to make us slip. When our lives, like the ships, face tempest and despair, we need to seek a harbor, and find shelter there. In this voyage, we have a choice, who will captain our ship, Jesus, who wants to save us; Satan who wants us scuttle our ship. So dear soul, who will your captain be; Satan who keeps you in bondage, or Jesus who will set you free? ~Winston Staples

Little Vessels!

I thank God for giving eyes to see and ears to hear and all the other senses we have to enjoy His creation. God uses all His creation to mold and shape us like the potter and the clay. He molds and shapes us into vessels of service. I wrote a poem about little vessels a few years ago that I want to share with you now. We are little vessels, created by God’s hand, put here a little while, to walk in this land. We are little vessels, broken and marred by sin, God knows our every weakness, He wants to mold us from within. We are little vessels, who need saved from sin, by submitting to God our potter, salvation will begin. We are little vessels, saved from sin and shame, Jesus gives us victory, because He lives again. We are little vessels, being molded by His Spirit, because of His love and grace, and not by our merit. We are little vessels, being shaped as He would have us be, perfect in His sight, when the face of Jesus we see. ~Winston Staples

MY GOD IS REAL   MY GOD IS REAL Some people go from day to day, not thinking about God. Others say there is no God, that He is not real. As I am sitting here writing this I am looking out my window viewing the beauty of nature around me and I wonder how any one could say, there is no God or He is not real. I see my God, in each flower, each tree, in each rain drop He sends my way. I see Him in each wave in the sea and hear His whisper in each gentle breeze. I hear His majesty in each song the song birds sing and I enjoy the blessing their melody brings. I know my God is real, when I see how lives are changed, when they give their life’s reins to Him. I know my God is real when He gives me joy in my times of stress. I know He is real when He gives me strength in times when I am weak and in pain and how He restores my soul when I pray. Yes dear friend, my God is real because I feel Him in my soul. Dear friend I trust that you will believe my God is real and feel the joy He can g...

Beckoning!

A BECKONING! Come hither, come hither, young person, to where, the pine trees grow. Come hither, come hither, young person, where the babbling brook, so gently flows. Come hither, come hither, young person, come and see, the wildflowers, in the lane, where they  beautifully, beautifully grow. Come hither, come hither, young person, open the word, the wonderful word of God, it will guide you, as you travel this sod. ~ Winston Staples

The May flowers are, Starting to bloom, Along the driveway, The yellow daffodils, Grow on my lawn, Sadly, Soon they will be gone. The robins sing its Spring, its Spring! God speaks in the breeze  And whispers through the pines, I’m here, I’m here for you, All the time, all the time! ~Winston Staples

More About Jesus!

Today friends let’s look a little further in God’s word to find more about Jesus. Hebrews 2:17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. As followers of this man from Galilee we are to be merciful as He was and what a difference that will make in the world around us. Matthew 27:14; Isaiah 53:7 tell us Jesus the Christ was patient in nature. Isaiah 53:7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Aren’t you glad that Jesus was patient and merciful and is still today giving hope and salvation to the lost as He saved me in 1958.

Psalms for Today!

Psalm 129 King James Version 129  Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say: 2  Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. 3  The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. 4  The  Lord  is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. 5  Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. 6  Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: 7  Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom. 8  Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the  Lord  be upon you: we bless you in the name of the  Lord .

Listening!

It was 11 PM and I was enjoying listening to Lynda Randle singing from the CD “Ageless Hymns”. I reached for my Bible and it fell open to Psalm 19, last verse stared me in the face. Let my words and meditation be on the Lord, who is my strength and salvation was the message ringing loud and clear. He has been my strength all the years I have had chronic pain and I can proclaim the strength and salvation He gives. ~Winston Staples

The Road Outback!

It was late, late in the day; I got on the wheeler, and drove slowly on the way. I quickly saw two doe, not spooked, as I drove slow. I love this old road, that leads me, to my favorite spot, the spot where the red pine, red pine trees grow. I, now sit, at the old beaver pond, where the beaver play, and the brook trout spawn. I sit, listening, to the gentle breeze, as it whispers through, those red pine trees. I hear the crickets, as lazy I grow, as I hear the cawing, cawing of the crow. I meditate on God’s word, and say thank you, for the sights I see, and sounds I have heard. I say thank you, for giving me your Son, and the victory won. Thank you for my friends, and family here; now I drive slowly back, knowing God will keep me, keep me on the right track.  ~Winston Staples

Special Hills!

Special Hills! There is a hill out back, that has felt many a track, both from animals and me, as I hunted out there and cut Christmas trees. I went out, in sun shine or rain, whether I felt good, or had many a pain, to sit in my rickety tree stand, and wait to see, a white tailed buck, as he tried to stay, stay clear from man. Now the deer are getting tame, and are found in my back yard, safe and secure, because I don’t hunt any more. I don’t walk now very far, I go on wheeler or car, to see those things precious to me, and dream about white tailed deer, and Christmas trees. I think of a special hill, Mount Calvary, How Jesus carried a cross, and died on it, for you and for me, so by putting our faith in Him, He gives our soul and spirit liberty ~Winston Staples

Nothing But the Blood!

Some folks seem to be offended by singing about the blood and want hymns that sing about the blood of Christ removed. Hymns like, ” Redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb”; There is power in the blood”; ” Alas! And did my Savior bleed”; ” Saved by the blood of the Crucified One”; ” When I see the blood”; ” My faith has found a resting place”, and many others. Dear folk, if we remove the blood, we remove the gospel; If we remove the blood, we remove our hope; If we remove the blood, we remove the Savior. We remove His love, His grace and His salvation. Without the shedding of the blood of Jesus, we have no hope of salvation and no hope of Heaven. With out the shedding of the blood of Jesus we have no remission of sins and no hope for mankind. Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.” The shedding of the blood of Jesus purchased our ticket to Heaven! ~ Winston Staples

Bible Verses for Wisdom!

TODAY’S BIBLE READING! Romans 8:1-15King James Version 8  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. ...

Heaven!

HEAVEN’S SPLENDOR O, to walk on those streets of gold, that are in Heaven, I’m told, to see the Jasper walls, and those gates of pearl, O, to live without sin, trouble or pain, no heartaches at all, and be able to talk, talk with Jesus and Apostle Paul. O, to see the crystal sea, and listen to the Angels sing, and gather around God’s thrown, and with every sound proclaim, worthy is the LAMB that was slain! ~Winston Staples

Fleeting Time!

Fleeting Time ! August has come, August has gone, Summer was short, it seems to me. Flowers are fading, soon the leaves, by the wind, will blow free. Yes, Summer was short, and soon, the colors of Autumn, our eyes will see. O, how awesome, a Creation, God formed with majesty, for us to enjoy, and to give Him Glory, for eternity.

So Many!

SO MANY! So many cry out, so many are hurting, so many homeless, so many flirting; so many hungry, so many sad, so many looking for good, so many only find bad. So many want good health, so many are poor, so many want prosperity, so many are not sure; So many seek a good trail, so many find paths not trod, so many get lost, so many need God. So many are searching for Heaven, only one way is found, that way is Jesus so many need Him, so many He has found; So many give HIM Glory, so many will see HIM crowned, so many will bow  to Him, so many confess He is Lord, so many will see their King of Kings, and forever serve their Lord of Lords. ~ Winston Staples

My Observation!

The other day I was riding my four wheeler, down an old woods road, i realized how much the red pines had grown. Now the wood cutters have came and cut,  yes, have cut most of them down. There is hardly a large one left around; I was driving as I could and as I rounded, rounded the turn, what should my eyes behold, a nice pine tree standing straight and tall, It's branches  reached all around, and it's pine cones lay one hundred feet, maybe more covering the ground; it's mighty branches gave shelter for birds. once a beaver dam was here, and the beaver played slapping their tails, when danger came near. Man came with traps and guns, killing the beaver, one by one, now they don't number one; Yes, God's creation is being destroyed, by the selfishness of man. They stopped reading His word, and lifting their hands, singing His praises; They haves His words from the schools, one on their tables and their night stands. They curse His Name, neglect the Bible, our hand boo...

Todays Psalm

Psalm 47 King James Version 47  O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. 2  For the  Lord  most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. 3  He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. 4  He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. 5  God is gone up with a shout, the  Lord  with the sound of a trumpet. 6  Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. 7  For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. 8  God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. 9  The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
