A JANUARY DAY

The day is very cold,

After the snow,

The temperature hovers,

At twenty below.

The neighbor’s car,

Will not start,

It growls, to cold, to cold,The truth is

the battery is to old.

Life’s road gets like that,

We have one life,

Not nine like the cat.

We get weary,

And sad in heart;

When I feel like this,

I read Isaiah forty,

And I am encouraged,

By verse thirty – one.

I pause,

Say thanks,

To the Trinity,

God the Father,

God the Holy Spirit,

And Jesus, God the Son!
