I was pondering or meditating on the lessons Christ and the seven sayings He made as He hung dying for my sins and the sins of the world. Here are the passages of scripture I am studying.
Luke 23:34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Even after the terrible beating and mocking, Jesus asked His Father to forgive them. Jesus offers forgiveness even to those who hurt Him and so should we!
Luke 23:39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. Jesus gave Salvation while dying on the cross!

John 14:26When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Jesus showed love and concern for others as He hung on the cross!

Matthew 27:46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Here we see the loneliness of Jesus as God His Father turned His face from Jesus as He bore our sins.

John 19:28After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Here I believe we see the humanity of Christ, as He was human and God both!

John 19:30When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. Here we see the work that Jesus was born to do completed, the work of offering a way of salvation for fallen mankind. He now was ready to go back into glory with His Father.

Luke 23:46And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Here we see Jesus placing His spirit in His Fathers hands and when a follower of Christ dies our spirit goes to be with our Heavenly Father!
