JUST THINKING!

Have you often wondered about your purpose in life? Do you wonder what you can do to make a difference to the world while passing through? As I have gotten older and crippled up so I can not get  out and teach like I used to, I have thought about it much. I have come to this conclusion; if we can say or do anything nice to put smiles on others faces or help them to keep on keeping on, we are fulfilling our purpose.

poem | Wint68's Blog

poem | Wint68's Blog: "Setting Sail: Life is like a voyage, sailing across the sea, setting our sails, to find breezes to set us free. as we set sail, we find the sailing may be rough, the waves roaring high, visibility mighty tough. We discover it is so hard, to be captain of our ship, when we have an enemy, seeking to make us slip. When our lives, like the ships, face tempest and despair, we need to seek a harbor, and find shelter there. In this voyage, we have a choice, who will captain our ship, Jesus, who wants to save us; Satan who wants us scuttle our ship. So dear soul, who will your captain be; Satan who keeps you in bondage, or Jesus who will set you free?"

poem | Wint68's Blog: "CHRISTMAS: It’s Christmas, it’s Christmas, let our hearts joyfully sing, God sent His Son to earth, His gift of salvation to bring, as a babe in a manger, not as a mighty king. Christmas is not Santa Clause, or tinsel hanging on a tree, Christmas is the gift of God’s Son, salvation for you and me. Christmas is not Frosty the snow man, nor Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, It’s the celebration of Jesus birthday, the beginning of God’s salvation plan. It’s Christmas, it’s Christmas, let our hearts joyfully sing, those good old Christmas carols, proclaiming the birth of Jesus, they so joyfully bring. Winston Staples"

Winston Sr Staples: "October in scarlet and russet and grey
Is hymning of Plenty and wine...
How calm is the morn! In high treble the stream
Is singing in rambling measure
Like a bard all enrapt that would catch on a theme
In the mazes of Fancy and pleasure!

Winston Sr Staples: "We are little vessels, created by God’s hand, put here a little while, to walk in this land. We are little vessels, broken and marred by sin, God knows our every weakness, He wants to mold us from within. We are little vessels, who need saved from sin, by submitting to God our potter, salvation will begin. We are little vessels, saved from sin and shame, Jesus gives us victory, because He lives again. We are little vessels, being molded by His Spirit, because of His love and grace, and not by our merit. We are little vessels, being shaped as He would have us be, perfect in His sight, when the face of Jesus we see."

Winston Sr Staples: "WATCH OUT
Watch out for the devil,
the father of lies,
he will sneak up and kick you,
and make your soul cry.
Watch out for the devil,
he will fill you with doubt,
he will use all his power,
to keep God’s light out.
Watch out for the devil,
that deceiver, that fraud,
he will do all he can,
to keep you from God.
Watch out for the devil,
he is lurking, around the bend,
doing all his dirty work,
to his very end.
Cheer up my friends,
there is an answer,
for the devil’s snares;
His name is Jesus,
He loves you and cares.
He shed His blood on Calvary’s tree,
and arose the third day,
so we could be free.
So trust in Jesus, my Redeemer,
and my friend; He will keep you safe,
on Him you can depend.

Early Morning [ by Winston Staples ] | Wint68's Blog: "It is early morn, no one is around, off in the distance, I hear a sound, it is the sound of a car horn, in the cold air, it sounds so forlorn. It has snowed all night; the ground is so beautiful and white, and in an hour it will be day light. I am watching the horizon, and waiting for the sun to shine so bright, it will change this darkness into beautiful sunlight. I will raise my hands and with a joyful shout, and thank God for all His creation about!"

PAINFUL STEPS

Painful Steps
Each painful step up Calvary’s hill,
He took His Father’s will to fulfill.
Each painful step was for and me,
Providing us the way to walk into eternity.
Each painful step, each painful blow,
He endured for you and me,
His everlasting love to show.
Each drop of blood He freely gave,
To bare our sins, our souls to save.
The painful spear that pierced His side,
He willfully endured, so with Him we could abide.
Yes, dear soul! Jesus God’s only Son,
Through these painful steps, victory was won.
Jesus endured all this agony and pain,
To defeat Satan and our salvation to gain.
All hail the power of Jesus name,
Thank Him for His victory, we can claim.
He bore the sin of the world; His salvation to bring;
Jesus, the Christ, the Lord of Lords,
And King of Kings.

A BIBLE READING FOR TODAY!

1 Peter 1King James Version (KJV)

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Three Trees | Wint68's Blog: "One morning, the air was crisp and still, I saw on the horizon, three trees, standing on a hill. The two trees on the outside, shorter than the center one, how they stood out in the rising sun. A refuge for the birds, in the time of storm, a nesting place, so peaceful and warm. Seeing these trees, so majestic, standing in a row, took my mind back, 2000 years or so; to a place called Calvary, where three wooden crosses, stood out so plainly in a row. On the outside crosses, hung two guilty thieves; on the center cross, hung the only Son of God, He was dying for you and me! Jesus was baring our sins, so we could be free! [ by Winston Staples ]"

AUTUMN

Autumn,
A time of cool days,
And cooler nights,
Autumn when a million leaves,
Million leaves take flight,
As they flutter down,
And land so light.
Autumn days,
Are shorter now,
Harvest is in,
Now fields are plowed.
Soon Autumn will be past,
And Winter's spell,
Will be cast,
Autumn is a special time,
To watch Nature's color,
And write down words,
Wonderful words that rhyme.
Autumn, so many colors,
Painted by a special brush,
Held my the Masters hand,
As He spreads His beauty,
Across this wonderful land.

Nothing But The Blood | Wint68's Blog

Nothing But The Blood | Wint68's Blog: "Some folks seem to be offended by singing about the blood and want hymns that sing about the blood of Christ removed. Hymns like, ” Redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb”; There is power in the blood”; ” Alas! And did my Saviour bleed”; ” Saved by the blood of the Crucified One”; ” When I see the blood”; ” My faith has found a resting place”, and many others. Dear folk, if we remove the blood, we remove the gospel; If we remove the blood, we remove our hope; If we remove the blood, we remove the Saviour. We remove His love, His grace and His salvation. Without the shedding of the blood of Jesus, we have no hope of salvation and no hope of Heaven. With out the shedding of the blood of Jesus we have no remission of sins and no hope for mankind. Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.” The shedding of the blood of Jesus purchased our ticket to Heaven!"

FEELING BLESSED!

As my spine,
deteriorates a little more,
a little more each day;
I still am so thankful
for so many blessings,
God has given me,
along life's way:
a wonderful childhood,
and teenage years,
a wonderful wife,
who has taken care
of me,
all these trying years,
four wonderful children,
five precious grandchildren.
Yes, I say thank you,
and give HIM praise,
for HIS many blessings,
all the days!

Adopted

Adopted

The Bible tells us that when we have faith and call upon the name of Jesus for His gift of salvation He adopts us into the Family of God.

Romans 8:15

15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  Romans 8:23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  Eph.1:5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  Gal. 4:5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  Romans 8:
14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  When we call upon the name of the Lord we are adopted into the greatest family of all, the family of God!

Saturday's Bible Reading

Philippians 3New King James Version (NKJV)

All for Christ

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation! For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit,[a] rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule,[b] let us be of the same mind.

Our Citizenship in Heaven

17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

One of My Favorite Bible Chapters!

Philippians 4New King James Version (NKJV)

Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.

Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer

I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. And[a] I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Philippian Generosity

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ[b] who strengthens me.
14 Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress. 15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the thingssent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Roads [ by Winston Staples ] | Wint68's Blog: "Roads: Some roads are long and narrow, some roads have hills dangerously steep, some roads are short and wide, some roads have valleys very deep. All roads have a beginning, all roads have an end; but all roads are not our friend. The Bible speaks of two roads, one narrow and one wide, the wide one leads to destruction, and on this road, everyone’s journey begins. The other road, the straight and narrow, this road is where God wants you to be, this road is entered by knowing Jesus, our one true guide you see. This road leads to Heaven, with Jesus on our side, when we reach Heaven, with God we will abide."

Now And Then

Way back then,
things I can't remember now,
when I was so much younger,
we would harness the horse
and milk the cows.
Life was young,
days of work,
nights to play and have fun,
playing hockey in the winter,
and ball in the summer sun.
Pain did not bother us then,
we would laugh,
and have fun,
back when we played,
ice hockey in the winter,
and ball in the summer sun.
God has been gracious,
He gave me eternal life
through Jesus HIS SON,
now in my old age,
I read my Bible and thank God,
for those days,
I played hockey in the winter,
and ball in the summer sun!

A Favorite Psalms

Psalm 121 King James Version (KJV)

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Posted on March 20, 2015 by wint68

Soon I will be leaving,

without a jet plane,

flying without wings,

caught up in the air

to meet the Lord of Lords

and King of Kings.

Soon I will be leaving,

without a jet plane,

I know why,

but I don’t know when;

when I return,

it will be in New Jerusalem.

Soon I will be leaving,

without a jet plane,

flying without wings,

to meet in the air,

my Lord of Lords,

and King of Kings.

A WINTER WRITING!

Another day,
Of watching it snow,
Looking out my window,
Watching the moving branches,
As the wind begins to blow.
This winter seems so long,
We need to see flowers,
And hear the robin's song,
To see the open streams,
To feel the warm sun beams;
We need to see,
The apple blossoms once more,
And the majestic eagle soar.
Yes, with each snowflake that falls,
I pray for patience,
And offer praise,
For the wonderful blessings,
Blessings you give to all.
Soon we will see the Bumble Bee,
And hear the wild goose call;
Thank you Lord for eyes to see,
and ears to hear,
And lips to give You praise,
Wonderful praise for eternity.

My Observations [ Hope according to the Bible ] | Wint68's Blog: "OBJECTS OF OUR HOPE:  1 Thess.5:8— But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. Saints have the hope of salvation!

Gal.5:5—For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. We have our hope of complete and perfect righteousness!

Titus 2:13– looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,          We have the hope of Christ’s glorious appearing!

Take courage. We walk in the wilderness today and in the Promised Land
tomorrow.  D. L. Moody    "

LIFE IS A BOOK | jake70

LIFE IS A BOOK | jake70: "Life is like a school book,

Filled with lessons,

We can learn everyday,

And as we turn each page,

Life’s lessons are learned,

As we read the words,

That are written by a sage.

We moved forward

As we had a desire,

To learn more,

Some days slow,

And some days fast.

We would learn lessons,

That would help in life.

Yes, life is like a school book,

It’s last page comes to fast!

Our life comes from God,

Created by HIS HANDS,

And He gave us a book,

To teach and guide us,

As we travel this sod.

And if we live our lives

And believe the good news,

And follow God’s Son;

He gives eternal life,

Freedom over death ,

And the devil,

The victory won."

Today’s Bible Verse | jake70

Today’s Bible Verse | jake70: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in highplaces. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:12-13AKJV"

SNOW SICK

Another snowy day,
And the weather person says,
Says there is more on the way.
The old snow thrower,
Growls no more, no more,
My chute is frozen,
My augers are sore.
My eyes want to see green,
My ears want to hear,
Hear the robin's song,
But still the weather person says,
It's just a dream for now,
More snow on the way,
And all I can say is wow!

Wint68's Blog

Wint68's Blog: "DAY BY DAY Day by day, I think about Jesus, about what He has done for me, how he came to earth, to bare my sins on Calvary’s tree. Day by day, I think about Jesus, who in heaven, our home prepares, because of His love and grace, many people will live up there. Day by day, I think about Jesus, victory over Satan did win, and because of that victory, we can be saved from sin. Day by day, I think about Jesus, how He is the Lord of Lords, and King of Kings, and as His children, His praises we should forever sing. Day by day, I think about Jesus, how He came to set me free, Oh! how much I love Him, because He first loved me. Day by day, I think about Jesus, and all He has done for me, then, I want to serve Him faithfully. Day by day, I think about Jesus, Oh! what He means to me, He is my hope, joy and liberty. Day by day, I think about Jesus, Oh! what he can do for you, Jesus wants to save your soul, then day by day, you can think, about Jesus too! —– Winston staples —–"

Psalms 28: 7-9

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
