Poem

If
If the sun were always shining
And the skies were always blue,
And the flowers always blooming
And the trees a bright green hue;
If the mourn were always cheerful
And the nights were all clear and bright,
And the birds were always singing
Never needing to take flight;
We would soon grow tired and weary
And oft complain and sigh,
For we'd miss the lovely rainbow
That God put in the sky.
Yes, we'd miss the rain and shadow
And fleecy clouds of white,
We'd miss the stars and moonlight
And winters chilling bite.
Then we'd never know the rapture
Of the first snow of the year,
Nor the shout of happy youngsters
Yelling," Whoopee! winters here."
If we could have all our wishes
Come true at our command,
Soon we'd want to change things back
To the way that God has planned.

MY OBSERVATIONS

As I lie here, looking out my widow, the snow swirling off my roof being driven by the cold wind. In the trees out back, I see the  black capped Chickadees gathering around the feeder enjoying the seeds I placed there. Oh, how wonderful, to watch the creations of God, bringing peace and comfort to me at this moment. God gave His creation  for us to enjoy and give comfort to our weary souls. God  gave us His only Son as a gift to redeem us from sin with it's death and shame, that great gift is everlasting and Jesus is His name!

Ladders

As I lie here, unable to sleep,
I think of many things,
and not counting sheep.
It amazes me,
what comes into my mind,
and to others it does not matter,
but tonight, I thought about ladders.
About man over the years,
have used them to gain heights,
like those of Babel,
reaching up, trying to reach God,
and those ladders firemen use,
lives and buildings to save.
Man and his inventions,
reach almost everywhere,
on this old sod,
but his ladders can not reach Heaven,
and the presence of God.
God provided a ladder,
one that came down,
so we could go up.
That ladder was Jesus,
God's only Son.
He came to us,
as a little humble babe,
 and after 33 years,
He gave up His life,
baring our sins, and through Him,
we can climb to Heaven,
because we are saved.

TEA

Tea for you,
Tea for me,
Tea is good.
Do you agree?
T is for thoughts,
E is for emotions,
A is for actions,
T and E produce.
We need to renew our mind,
By God's Holy Word,
Then our actions,
Will be loving and  kind.
Then to others,
We will be living the Word.
So let us live God's way,
That leads us to good,
And not the way,
Others say we should.

Thankful

It was two weeks before Thanksgiving,
The air was crisp and clear,
The leaves were all gone,
No lovely multi-colors,
O! I miss their beauty,
I wish they were still here.
I took another look,
Out this big window of mine,
And now I say thank you,
For all the beauty,
I still find.
Multi-colored gray trees,
Evergreens growing between,
Make an awesome picture,
Awesome beauty,
That is now seen.
Thank you Heavenly Father,
For creating all these things,
But most of all for your Son,
And the Salvation He brings!

Fall Walk

I decided to take a walk,
and see if a partridge,
I could spot;
I grabbed the old twenty gauge,
and a hand full of bird shot.
I walked slowly,
You might say I crept,
there was a crash,
and a bounce,
and a flash,
I almost got run over,
by a large doe.
There was a blow,
another deer ran,
and I wished,
that I had my camera in my hand.
I looked above,
as I heard the sound,
of 100 wild geese call,
O, how I love,
the sights and sounds of fall.

Running Life's Race

Life is like a marathon,
run in years,
instead of miles,
some days bring heart ache,
some days bring smiles.
Some days are filled with sunshine,
while others are filled with rain,
some days the body is spry,
while other days it is racked in pain.
Each day is a challenge,
and a race to run,
from day break,
to the setting of the sun.
In our spiritual life,
a daily race,
is to be run,
either following Satan,
or God's only Son.
Satan races us toward destruction,
and Jesus races us  toward Heaven,
where He is the light for everyone.
So let us,
run with Jesus,
over life's rocky track,
looking toward the finish line,
and never looking back.
When life's race is over,
and Heaven is our prize,
in a land with no sorrows,
and unclouded skies.

The Return of Fall

The last of September is here,
and hunting season is near;
Yes, fall has returned.
The maple leaves are turning color,
their reds, orange and yellows,
and the sky is a pretty blue;
Yes, fall has returned to me and you!
The days are not quite as long,
and I don't hear much of the robins song,
but I hear the wild goose call,
and I know, it is the return of fall.

We like Sheep

While driving in the country, we passed a large field filled with fluffy white sheep a lot of them were covered in dirt from where they made contact with the muddy ground. Then this verse from Isaiah 53 popped into my mind."6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
We were born into a dirty sin filled pasture as dirty little sheep with no way of our own of getting out. God so loved we little sheep that He sent a spotless lamb, the Lamb of God to clean us up and set us free!

The Return

Today, I returned,
to the place,
the place,
where the red pine trees grow,
to hear the cry of the Blue Jay,
and the cawing of the crow.
There were many ducks,
swimming to and fro,
in that old beaver dam,
where the red pine trees grow.
There was a Great  Blue Heron,
sitting on an old pine limb,
and I waited patiently,
to see those beaver swim.
Oh, what a beautiful day,
to go to that place,
the place,
where the red pine trees grow.

The Hunt

THE HUNT
It’s late October, the big bucks are on the run;
they have the scent of doe, the rut has begun.
It’s very early in the morn,
the frost still lies heavy on the corn.
My heart is quickly beating, the bow season has finally come;
I have packed all my gear, my planning complete,
now I carefully walk to my tree stand and take my seat.
I have did all I can to cover my scent,
now to patiently wait until my bow can be bent.
Our hunt for this worthy prize, happens once a year,
we are also a foe, who are daily stalked and hunted,
like that trophy white tailed deer.
While walking down life’s trail,
our adversary, the devil lies in wait,
he uses every deception, every lie,
to keep us from entering God’s Heavenly gate.
Dear friend, let us give God our lives,
so His armor we can safely wear;
and by His Spirit, help us detect Satan’s snare,
and when Satan shoots those fiery darts,
we will have God’s word to protect our minds, souls and hearts.

When morning breaks,

when morning breaks,
it is my Bible reading time,
when morning breaks,
it is my praying time,
when morning breaks,
it is my quiet time.
When morning breaks,
make it your quiet time,
when morning breaks,
make it your Bible reading time,
when morning breaks,
make it your praying time,
when morning breaks,
make it your quiet time.
When morning breaks,
it is my quiet time!

The Web

A few years ago, while going into my shop, I saw a bumble bee caught in a large spider web. It was still alive, struggling hard to escape. No matter how hard it tried, it was an impossible task, it needed help from outside the web.I took my glove covered hand, and freed that helpless bee from it's terrible fate. This reminds me, of how we were caught in sin's terrible web and there was no way to escape, and because of God's love and grace, sent Jesus to set us free from our terrible fate.

Favourite Bible Verses

Psalm 103

 1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
 6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
 7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
 8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
 9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
 10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
 11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
 12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
 13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
 14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
 15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
 16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
 17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
 18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
 19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
 20Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
 21Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
 22Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Strolling Along

 Today as I walked the dog,
 Or you might say,
 The dog walked me.
 The fog was just being burnt away,
 By a beautiful golden sun,
 O what a beautiful day.
 We strolled along,
 Not moving very fast,
 As I glanced toward the ditch,
 I spied a dead sparrow,
 Lying in the grass.
 My mind remembered,
 That great hymn,
 His eye is on the sparrow,
 And I know He is watching me.

The Walk

As I walked the dog today,
I was amazed at the things,
I saw along the way.
The beautiful wild flowers in bloom,
and the hummingbirds,
as they zoomed,
and the baby blue sky,
with floating white clouds,
made me want to shout,
in a voice so loud,
O what a beautiful morning,
O what a beautiful day!

Who Prayed?

Did you think of us this morning
As you breathed a word of prayer?
Did you ask for strength to help us
All our heavy burdens bear?

Did you speak of faith and courage
For the trials we must meet,
Did you ask God might keep us
As you bowed at Jesus' feet?

Someone prayed, and strength was given
For the long and weary road.
Someone prayed and faith grew stronger
As we bent beneath our load.

Someone prayed-- the way grew brighter
As we walked all unafraid.
In our heart a song of gladness--
Tell us: Was it you who prayed?

Doors

Doors are made,
to go through,
in or out, it's up to you.
Doors are of many types,
that we must face in life,
some bring us happiness,
while others bring strife.
Some doors are meant,
for us to open,
while others are better left shut,
some lead to green pastures,
while others lead us into deep ruts.
 There are two doors to eternity,
that may be opened by death,
one leads to eternal torment,
the other to heavenly rest.
Doors of destruction,
may  be selfishness and pride.
Jesus is the door to Heaven,
and He will welcome you,
with His arms open wide.

The Stream

There is a crooked stream,
running quiet and still,
just half a mile,
over that hill.
One day last fall,
there was a big rain,
that old stream was raging,
a rage no man could tame.
It roared and rushed,
took houses and land,
where ever it went,
 it obeyed no command.
Sometimes our life,
is like that stream,
all peaceful and calm,
then comes trials,
that explode like a bomb.
We have a place,
where we can go,
to our Heavenly Father,
who by His loving hand,
soothes and calms,
that raging stream,
with one command,
it obeys His will,
as He speaks,
Peace be still.

The Old Woods Road

When I was a lad,
only half grown,
my dad would take me fishing,
out that old woods road.
How I loved our fellowship,
and my dad's smile,
as we stopped to rest,
after we walked,
what seemed two miles.
We sat and rested,
listened to the birds sing;
with the sun beaming down,
and a gentle breeze,
blowing through the pines,
O what a beautiful sound.
Now these old bones,
are seventy years old,
and the bushes have over grown,
and it is hard to find,
that old woods road;
But that old woods road is there,
 as long as I can think,
 and rem-anise of a stream,
where I fished,
 and had a cool drink.

Forever

Author unknown. Forever

I learn as the years roll forward

And leave the past behind,

That much I have counted sorrow

But proves our God is kind;

That many a flower I longed for

Had a hidden thorn of pain,

And many a rugged by-path

Led to fields of grain.

My Favorite Quotes

"“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

My Favorite Bible Verses

 Psalm 119:102-105---102I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
 103How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
 104Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
 105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

 Psalm 119:162, 163--I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

I'd Like [ by Mary Wray ]

I'd like to be the sort of friend,
You folk have been to me.
I'd like to be the help to you,
That you were glad to be.
I'd like to mean the much to souls,
Each moment of the day
And do the things that you have done,
As you walk God's own way.

I'd like to do bigger things,
The splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies
And have there only blue.
I'd like to say the kindly things,
That I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could bless you good
The way my hearts been stirred.

I'd like to give you folk the joy
That you have given me,
By praying and instructing one
Unworthy though I be.
And could I have a wish this year,
This only would it be
I' like to be the sort of friend
That you have been to me.

Worship

Worship

Today I went to worship,
on the old woods road,
and to enjoy His creation,
it’s beauty to behold.
As I drove slowly,
on my old A.T.V.,
what wonders of beauty,
my wandering eyes did see.
The evergreens,
their forty shades of green,
the black birds and lady slippers,
beside that old beaver pond,
made my eyes wander,
to the hills and beyond.
Then my mind thought,
of the words,
in Psalms 121;
Look unto the hills,
where thy help comes from.

The View

 It is 7:30 AM, I am gazing through my window pane,
 it is cloudy and looks like it will rain.
 Everything is so beautiful, lush and green,
 the lawn is sprinkled with yellow flowers,
 oh, what a beautiful scene.
 There are two bald eagles,
 flying and then gliding so gracefully high;
 my soul absorbs all this view,
 and releases a thankful and joyful sigh.

"He Will Carry You" By Lynda Randle

Song From The Heart

Somewhere along this Christian road of life,
I got to using days for just my chores;
You know, the little odds and ends we do,
Like laundry, ironing, sewing. cleaning drawers.

I sang my song with lilting quality,
Hardly giving anything a care,
For I just knew that I had some need,
When I got home, my loved one would be there.

God took that one. And in my lonely heart,
He poured His special peace, His tender love;
I cannot doubt that God has drawn me near
To trust Him more until I'm drawn above.

God's mercy grows. My life has known new gain;
My song is now another melody;
I trusted Him, I now rejoice in Him;
I'm in His keeping---and shall ever be!

Psalm 149

Praise to God for His Salvation and Judgment
 1 Praise the LORD!

         Sing to the LORD a new song,
         And His praise in the assembly of saints.

 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
         Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
 3 Let them praise His name with the dance;
         Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
 4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
         He will beautify the humble with salvation.

 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory;
         Let them sing aloud on their beds.
 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
         And a two-edged sword in their hand,
 7 To execute vengeance on the nations,
         And punishments on the peoples;
 8 To bind their kings with chains,
         And their nobles with fetters of iron;
 9 To execute on them the written judgment—
         This honor have all His saints.

Blessings!

 Blessings from above
           Sunshine, sunshine beaming down, warming the seeds, planted in the ground. Rain drops, rain drops bouncing on the road, bringing much needed moisture, to the seeds that are sowed. Moon beams, moon beams giving soft light, to show us natures beauty at night. Stars, stars twinkling far above, reminds me of diamonds, a symbol of love. God's Son sent from above, bringing grace and love; giving us salvation from sin, if we open our hearts and invite Him to come in.

Favorite Psalms

Psalm 139

 1O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
 2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
 3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
 4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
 5Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
 6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
 7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
 8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
 9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
 10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
 11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
 12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
 13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
 15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
 16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
 17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
 18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
 19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
 20For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
 21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
 22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
 23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
 24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Wonderful Cross - Michael W. Smith

I Will Press On [ Phil. 3:14 ]

There is a goal before me set,
Which I have not attained as yet---
But by His grace I trust to reach
And live the life His word does teach.
    Henceforth, I will press on.

How shall His will be fully known
Except through His dear Word alone?
I'll read, and read, and read again
Until the Spirit makes it plain---
    I must---I will press on.

" Set heart and mind on things above,"
Is written in His Word of love.
Lord, make it true in every realm,
Be Thou the captain at the helm.
    I will!---- I will press on!

To The Wild Country John Denver

John Denver, Alaska and Me

Bridges

   Bridges were designed,
   to cross a divide,
   some may be narrow,
   others may be wide.
   Some bridges may be concrete,
   others steel or wood,
   some lead to heartache,
   while others lead to good.
   Some cross valleys,
   others cross rivers and streams.
   Other bridges lead to trouble,
   other my lead us to fulfill our dreams.
   Man made bridges cross many divides,
   except the gap called sin,
   only the cross of Jesus,
   this gulf can span,
   and give salvation for sinful man.

Painful Steps

Painful Steps
Each painful step up Calvary's hill,
He took His Father's will to fulfill.
Each painful step was for you and me,
providing us a way to walk into eternity.
Each painful step, each painful blow,
He endured for you and me,
His everlasting love to show.
Each drop of blood He freely gave,
to bare our sin,
and our souls to save.
The painful spear that pierced His side,
He willfully endured,
so with Him we could abide.
Yes, dear soul, God's only Son,
through those painful steps victory was won.
Jesus endured all this agony and pain,
to defeat Satan and our salvation to gain.
All hail the power of Jesus name,
and thank Him for the victory,
we can claim.
He bore the sin of the world,
His salvation to bring,
Jesus the Christ, the Lord of Lords,
and the King of Kings.

wint'swords: TAKE TIME

wint'swords: TAKE TIME: "Take time to enjoy each baby step, we take as we travel this sod, take time to smell the roses, and communicate with God. Take time to watc..."

TAKE TIME

Take time to enjoy each baby step,
we take as we travel this sod,
take time to smell the roses,
and communicate with God.
Take time to watch the twinkling stars,
and remember God loves you,
no matter where you are.
Take time to stop each day and rest,
and talk with Jesus,
you will be blessed.
Take time to enjoy the sunshine,
and each drop of rain,
counting each blessing,
even in great pain.
Take time to listen,
to your brother and sister too,
remember that is what Jesus would do.
Take time to thank God,
for the awesome things He has done,
especially for salvation,
through Jesus His Son.
Take time to enjoy each sound,
each sight and fragrance,
along life's way,
never forgetting, God loves you,
no matter what man may say.

Hope is putting faith to work when doubting would be easier. ----- Author unknown-----

HE IS ALIVE

                                           He is alive! He is alive!

                                           Come worship the King!

                                           He is alive! He is alive!

                                           All nature sings.

                                           He is alive! He is alive!

                                           Let new life begin,

                                           open your heart;

                                           invite Jesus in.

                                           He is alive! He is alive!

                                           Come glorify our King.

                                           He is alive! He is alive!

                                           Let our heart rejoice;

                                           His praises, joyfully sing.

Heaven's Splendor [ by Winston Staples ]

Oh, to walk on those streets of gold,
that are in Heaven I'm told,
to see the Jasper walls and gates of pearl.
Oh, to live without sin, trouble or pain,
and have no heart aches at all,
and be able to talk to Jesus and Paul.
Oh, to see the crystal sea,
and listen to the Angels sing in harmony,
and gather around God's thrown,
and with every sound proclaim,
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain!

Heavenly Grass [ by Tennessee Williams ]

  My feet took a walk on heavenly grass,
  All day while the sky was clear as glass.
  My feet took a walk in heavenly grass,
  All night while the stars rolled past.
  Then my feet came to walk on earth,
  And my mother when she gave me birth.
  Now my feet walk far and my feet walk fast,
  But they still got an itch for heavenly grass.
  But they still got an itch for heavenly grass.

My Favorite Bible Verses

Psalm 150

Let All Things Praise the LORD
 1 Praise the LORD!

         Praise God in His sanctuary;
         Praise Him in His mighty firmament!

 2 Praise Him for His mighty acts;
         Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!

 3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
         Praise Him with the lute and harp!
 4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
         Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
         Praise Him with clashing cymbals!

 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.

         Praise the LORD!

My Favorite quotes

The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs.  The real differences are between those who embrace peace and those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past; between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists.  ~William J. Clinton, 1997

WHERE IS SPRING

 It is late in March;
 it is sunny and cold,
 I want the snow to go,
 and the green grass to behold.

 It is late in March;
 it is sunny and bright;
 I want to go fishing,
 and feel a big trout bite.

 It is late in March,
 and the snow still,
 lays on the ground,
 and no green grass
 can be found.

 It is late in March,
 the song,
 of the Robin
 still not heard,
 oh hasten, sweet spring,
 and bring your song birds!

wint'swords: Without Wings

Without Wings

Soon I will be leaving,
without a jet plane,
flying without wings,
caught up in the air,
to meet the Lord of Lords,
and the King of Kings.

Soon I will be leaving,
without a jet plane.
I know why,
but I don't know when,
when I return,
it will be in New Jerusalem.

Soon I will be leaving,
without a jet plane,
flying without wings,
to meet in the air,
my Lord of Lords,
and King of Kings.

God's Gifts

  One day, while four wheeling,
  to that old beaver dam,
  as I viewed my surroundings,
  into my heart came a special feeling,
  that I should in prayer should be kneeling,
  because  of His beauty in His creation,
  He was revealing everywhere.
  The baby blue sky,
  the eagle soaring,
  and below the beaver dam,
  a water falls running quickly and roaring.
  These things are awesome and great gifts,
  but not as great as His special gift for you and me,
  as it is recorded in John three: sixteen;
  His gift is life with Him for eternity.

Sheltered

Sheltered

                                       Through the pines,

                                       Where soft breezes blow,

                                       Through the pines,

                                       We see traces of snow,

                                       Through the pines,

                                       Where birds build their nest,

                                       Through the pines,

                                       A doe and her fawn take rest.

                                       In God's arms we can safely go;

                                       There HIs shelter He will bestow,

                                       Giving us comfort and sweet rest.

                                       Remember, when those storms,

                                       Start to blow,

                                       Into God's arms,

                                       We can safely go.

My Favorite Bible Verses

1 John 4:1-8 (King James Version)

1 John 4

 1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
 2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
 3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
 4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
 5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
 6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
 7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Trails

                                     TRAILS

                       There are many trails we travel in life,

                       some bring happiness, others bring strife,

                       some have ups, some have downs,

                       some through swamps, some on smooth ground,

                       some in the rain, and some in the sun,

                       some at a slow pace, some on the run.

                       Some trails lead us into temptation,

                       while others lead us in the right direction.

                       Trails of this world are from birth to the grave;

                       the gospel trail leads to where we may be saved.

                       Dear ones, let us choose trails of happiness not strife,

                       let us take the trail to eternal life.

                       The trail Jesus trod before us,

                       leads us to our heavenly home.
