The Lighthouse

While driving in the country one night,
I saw a small lighthouse, placed on a lawn,
in it was a light, that shone from dusk to dawn.
The lighthouse was once used to warn,
the coming ships of dangers ahead,
especially in the bad storms,causing sailor’s dread.
what a comfort it must have been,
to see it’s flashing light guiding them,
around the reefs and the great rocks,
avoiding the danger, until the ship safely docks.
We believers in Christ, have a lighthouse,
as we sail this voyage on life’s sea,
it is Christ Himself, guiding you and me.
In the Bible, John tells us,
Jesus is the light of the world,
helping us see the poison darts,
Satan and all his demons hurl.
Dear friend, if you are still walking,
in the valley and darkness of sin,
why not ask Christ for forgiveness,
and let His light of guidance begin.

WORSHIP

Worship

beaver-dam-construction
It is early Sunday morning,
the air is cool and brisk,
water drops hanging from the branches,
as if gently kissed.
This morning ,
I went to worship,
where the red pine trees grow,
and see the frozen beaver dam,
where the beaver swim below.
This morning,
I went to worship, and thank God,
for all I see and hear,
the cawing of the crow,
and the graceful,
graceful white tailed deer.
This morning,
I went to worship,
thanking Him for my salvation,
that is proclaimed,
proclaimed by His word,
His word loud and clear.

Life's Race

Life’s race is like a marathon,
Run in years,
Instead of miles,
Some days bring heartaches,
And others bring smiles.
Some days the body is spry,
While others it pains,
And one wants to cry.
Somedays are filled with sunshine,
And others filled with rain.
Each day is a chalange,
And a race to be run,
From day break,
To the setting of the sun.
In our spiritual life,
Life’s race is to be run,
Either following Satan,
Or God’s only Son.
Satan races us toward destruction;
Jesus leads us to Heaven,
Eternal life for everyone.
So let us run with Jesus,
Over life’s rocky track,
Looking toward the finish line,
And never looking back.
When life’s race is over,
Heaven will be our prize,
A land without sorrow,
And cloudy skies.

Sheltered

 Through the pines, where soft breezes blow, through the pines, we see traces of snow, through the pines, where birds, build their nests, a doe and her fawn take rest. In His arms, we can safely go, in His arms, we find shelter, from the wild storms that blow; In His arms, we find sweet rest, gather strength, and are richly blessed.

poem « Wint68's Blog: "Dear soul, do you long for a place of perfect rest? Do you long for a place where the sun never sets? Do you long to be free from toil and stress? Do you long for a place with cloudless skies, no sorrow and no goodbyes? Dear soul, do you long for painless days, and where the roses bloom forever? Do you long for a place with eternal gladness and to give eternal praise? Dear soul, that place is Heaven, with Christ to remain. Dear soul, you need no money or fame, come to Jesus, He will put you on the train! "

Sailing Along!

 Life is like a voyage, sailing across the sea, setting our sails, to find breezes to set us free. as we set sail, we find the sailing may be rough, the waves roaring high, visibility mighty tough. We discover it is so hard, to be captain of our ship, when we have an enemy, seeking to make us slip. When our lives, like the ships, face tempest and despair, we need to seek a harbor  and find shelter there. In this voyage, we have a choice, who will captain our ship, Jesus, who wants to save us; Satan who wants us scuttle our ship. So dear soul, who will your captain be; Satan who keeps you in bondage, or Jesus who will set you free?

Take Time

Hi my friends!
Take time to enjoy each baby step,
as we travel this sod,
take time to smell the roses,
and communicate with God.
Take time to watch the twinkling stars,
and remember God loves you,
no matter where you are.
Take time each day to rest,
and talk with Jesus,
you will be blessed.
Take time to enjoy the sunshine,
and each drop of rain,
take time to count your blessings,
even while enduring great pain.
Take time to listen,
to your brother and sister too!
Remember, that is what Jesus would do!
Take time to thank God,
for the awesome things He has done,
especially for salvation,
through Jesus, His only Son.
Take time to enjoy each sound,
each sight and fragrance too,
and be blessed,
they were created for you!
Take time to be silent,
and pray everyday,
never forgetting God loves you,
no matter what others may say!

Walking With Jesus

HAND IN HAND
Hand in hand with Jesus,
walking down life’s road,
sharing every burden,
sharing every load.
Hand in hand with Jesus,
passing life’s test,
enjoying His fellowship,
being richly blessed.
Hand in hand with Jesus,
He will safely lead,
soothing every heartache,
meeting every need.
Hand in hand with Jesus,
through death’s door we will safely go,
to stand around God’s throne,
no greater happiness will ever be known.

Holy Men of God

Hi My friends! As I look around the world and see the terrible turmoil it is in, I wonder where the Holy men of God are. Men who speak up for God and His moral standards; men that we used to have that stood for His truth; men we don’t have now because of their old age and those who are deceased; men like Jerry Falwell and Billy Graham. I have a dear friend and brother in Christ who writes songs an
d preaches God’s word, brother Ed Sealy. A song he wrote a few years ago keeps running through my mind and the chorus goes like this:
Where are the Holy men of God
Where are they all?
Like the prophet Isaiah, Jeremiah
And Apostle Paul?
Who weren't ashamed to wear His name
And be set apart from self and sin
And all
Where are the Holy men of God
Where are they all?

SOUNDS

 SOUNDS
I love the sound, of the morning dove,
when he calls his mate in love;
I love the sound, of the distant loon,
as he sings his mournful tune;
I love the sound, of the gentle breeze,
as it moves and rustles the leaves;
I love the sound, of the falling rain,
as it strikes against the window pane;
I love the sound, of the babbling brook’
as I sit and dangle my kook;
I love the sound, of the lullaby,
as the mother soothes her child’s cry.
I love the sound, all creation gives,
and shouts the news, our creator lives;
I love the sound, of God’s Holy word,
and the great message it gives to be heard,
salvation and great hope for the lost,
comes from God at great cost.
If this great truth they believe,
eternal life they shall receive.
There is a sound, I am waiting for,
the sound of a great shout,
and a trumpets blare,
when the Saints will meet,
Christ in the air;
We will be ushered to Heaven above,
because of His amazing grace and eternal love.

THE RETURN

Today I returned,
to my favorite place,
the place, where the red pine trees grow,
to hear the cry of the blue jay,
and the cawing of the crow.
there were many ducks,
swimming to and fro,
in that old beaver dam,
where the red pine trees grow.
there was an great Blue Heron,
sitting on an old pine limb,
as I waited patiently,
to see those beaver swim.
Oh, what a beautiful day,
to go to that place,
the place where the red pine trees grow!

RAY OF HOPE

Ray of Hope:

It is late October,
The sky is cloudy and gray,
A drizzle is falling,
Oh, what a dreary day!
The leaves are all about gone,
And a flock of crows,
Are cawing on the hill beyond.
All of a sudden,
I see,
A patch of blue sky,
And the sun come shining through,
Oh, what a little ray of sunshine can do.
In this life,
As we are passing through,
The cloudy days seem,
more than a few,
Then one day,
The SONSHINE of God's love,
Comes shining through,
Bringing us hope of Heaven,
When our weary days are through.

OLD HYMNS

I love looking at old hymn books and reading their great messages they proclaim. Here is a verse from the old hymn “ MY SONG IS LOVE UNKNOWN “

He came from his blest throne
Salvation to bestow;
But men made strange, and none
The longed-for Christ would know:
But O my friend,
My friend indeed,
Who at my need
His life did spend!

Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives,
and he who seeks finds,
and to him who knocks it will be opened.
(Matthew 7:7-8; Luke 11:9-10)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard [barricade] your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7).

WORDS FROM THE PAST

When I was a lad, I remember my dad, sitting in his old rocking chair,reading from Isaiah 53, this was his favorite reading from the past. Today I am sharing a writing from a Daily Bread devotion from October 22/1994.

THE  OTHER  SIDE

Many years ago a doctor made a house call on a dying patient, who asked, “Doctor, what will heaven be like?” The physician paused, trying to think of a helpful reply. Just then they heard the sound of scratching on the closed door of the patient’s bedroom.

“Do you hear that?” the doctor asked. “It’s my dog. I left him downstairs, but he got impatient and came up here looking for me. He doesn’t know what’s in this room, but he knows his master is here. I believe that’s how it is with heaven. We don’t know what it’s like, but we know that Jesus will be there. And really, nothing else matters.”
The Bible gives us a few faith-strengthening glimpses of what life will be like beyond the closed door of death. We know that heaven will be a place of radiant splendor (Rev. 21:23). We know that it will be a place of reunion as we meet again those whom we have loved and from whom we have been parted for a little while (1 Th. 4:17). We know that there will be “no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying” (Rev. 21:4).
But above all, when we get to the other side, we will rejoice because Jesus is there, and we will be with Him forever.
My knowledge of that life is small,
The eye of faith is dim;
But it’s enough that Christ knows all,
And I shall be with Him. —Baxter
To be with Jesus forever is the sum of all happiness.

The Hard Wood Ridge

I am nestled all cozy and warm in my knitted wool sweater, on a hardwood ridge enjoying the cool weather. I am on this ridge, looking over the hill,the air is cool,crisp and still, and in the beaver pond below are two mallard ducks, enjoying a last moment swim, before the cold winds of winter begin. I enjoy the fall leaves, red, yellow and bronze, it won't belong, they will be all gone. So let's get out while we still can, and enjoy nature's blessings created by God's plan.

Fall Colors

Fall  Colors

October fifth is cloudy and drear,

Soft rain is falling,

Thanksgiving is near,

And the maple trees are covered in red,

A large eagle glides overhead.

Aspens turning yellow all around,

And so many leaves floating to the ground.

The hills and ridges covered in evergreens,

And the beautiful colored hardwoods,

Scattered  in between.

Fall colors so abundant everywhere,

I raise my hands,

And give praise and glory to God,

For giving me all these blessings,

As I travel this sod.

GREAT HYMNS OF THE PAST

Great hymns are a blessing for us as they give us a spiritual uplift. Hymns like " Blessed Assurance" and " Love Lifted Me". "Amazing Grace" being my favorite. Thank God for the message the writers present in these great old hymns.. Today I would like to share a few  verses from another old hymn.

LORD  SPEAK TO ME
Lord speak to me that I may speak in living echoes of thy tone;
as thou has sought,
so let me seek thy erring child-ren lost and lone.

O lead me Lord, that I may lead
the wandering and wavering feet;
O fed me, Lord, that I might feed
thy hungering ones with manna sweet,

O teach me, Lord, that I may teach
the precious things thou dost impart;
and wing my words, that they may reach
the hidden depths of many a heart.

Old Hymns

I love looking at old books, especially old hymn books that tell us the story of Jesus and His love for you and me. Below are a few verses from the old hymn DECK THYSELF, MY SOUL, WITH GLADNESS.

Now I sink before thee lowly,
filled with joy most deep and holy,
as with trembling awe and wonder
on thy mighty works I ponder;
how, by mystery surrounded,
depths no man hath ever sounded,
none my dare to pierce unbidden
secrets that with thee are hidden.

Jesus, Bread of life, I pray thee,
let me gladly here obey thee;
never to my hurt invited,
be thy love with love requited;
from this banquet let me measure,
Lord, how vast and deep it's treasure;
through the gifts thou here dost give me,
as thy quest in heaven receive me.

WORDS FROM THE PAST

As I sit here listening to Our Daily Bread, I am reminded of how my mother and mother in law loved their Daily Bread books. Today I am sharing an old page from the Daily Bread.

Our Daily Bread Radio is hosted by Les Lamborn
We are all accustomed to contracts. We are often required to sign them, whether with a builder to construct our house or with the department store when we purchase an appliance. Contracts, formal or informal, specify what happens if one of the parties fails to live up to an agreement.
When we put our trust in Christ for salvation, however, we do more than sign a contract. We enter into a binding relationship with God whereby He makes us His children by the new birth and by adoption (1 Pet. 1:23; Eph. 1:5). Because of this close family relationship, we are permanent heirs of an eternal inheritance reserved in heaven for us (1 Pet. 1:4).
Contracts can be broken if one of the parties fails to keep his part of the promise. Fortunately for us, our eternal destiny is based on more than some legal agreement we make with God. Rather, we are secure because of our family relationship with Him. If a youngster fails to show up for dinner, the parent’s obligation isn’t canceled. The parent starts a search for the child. One member’s failure doesn’t cancel the relationship.
How thankful we can be that eternal life is based on our relationship with God through Christ.
We’re members of God’s family,
We’re children of the King;
Because we’ve put our faith in Christ,
To us He’ll always cling. —Sper
We are heirs of God not merely by contract, but by birthright.

Being Shaped as We Travel

As I look across this valley, I see hills on both sides, and as is the case, where there are mountains, there are valleys. As in our lives, deep valleys we must cross and steep hills and mountains to climb before we reach the good times. These good time will be in Heaven, when we are with Jesus, our King of Kings and Lord of Lords; but until then, we will be shaped by the potter's hands, when we are in our valleys or climbing our mountains. Here is a chorus of a song written by a dear friend, Ed Sealy titled " The Grinding of the Wheel".
" Without the grinding of the wheel,
there is no luster to the stone;
without the storm clouds and the rain,
then the seed would not be grown;
without the fire in the furnace,
the gold would not be shown;
without the grinding of the wheel,
there is no luster to the stone."
So let's smile and sing a song of praise as we are molded by someone who loves us now and all our eternal days.

In His Arms

 "In His Arms
[ by Winston Staples ]
In His arms, we can safely go,
where to us great love He bestows,
In His arms, we find peace at its best,
where He gives us perfect rest,
In His arms, grace does abundantly abound,
where His mercy, that endures forever is found,
In His arms, we are secure,
and safe for ever more,
In His arms, salvation is there,
In His arms, He want you there,
In His arms, now I pray,
that in His arms, you will come and stay.

I love fingering through the pages of old books, especially old hymn books. Today I found this writing titled " WE PRAISE YOU FOR THE SUN ", the words go as follows:
We praise you for the sun, the golden shining sun, that gives us healing,                                        strength and joy; we praise you for the sun.  Verse two.--- We praise you for the rain, the softly falling rain,               that gives us healing, strength and joy; we praise you for the rain.  Verse three--- We praise you for love, our friend and Father God, who gives us healing, strength and joy; we praise you for your love.

The Real Jesus

Who is Jesus? Observing the ways He is portrayed these days, it’s almost impossible to recognize Him as the Jesus of the Bible. Some groups add to what the Bible says about Him, while others diminish Him to simple humanity, claiming that He was merely a wise teacher or a master moralist. Some would like to make Him disappear altogether.
But this is nothing new. It’s been happening for nearly 2,000 years. This reminds me of Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the US Declaration of Independence. He went through the New Testament Gospels with scissors and cut out all references to Jesus’ deity and the supernatural. This is known as The Jefferson Bible. Even recently, people have approached the Gospels in similar ways.
When Jesus asked His 12 disciples what people were saying about who He was, some answers were Elijah, Jeremiah, and John the Baptist, but these answers were all inadequate. Peter was correct when he said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).
Don’t be deceived by fuzzy, watered down, or false descriptions of Jesus that you read, see, or hear about. Stick to the Bible. When people try to minimize His identity, tell them in no uncertain terms who the real Jesus is!
All glory to Jesus, begotten of God,
The great I AM is He;
Creator, sustainer—but wonder of all,
The Lamb of Calvary! —Peterson

Words

 WORDS
words are special,
powerful indeed,
they can sooth a broken heart,
when positive words we feed.
Words spoken wisely,
help heal broken souls;
words guide our foot steps,
as we walk toward our goals.
Words spoken carelessly.
wound innocent hearts;
once spoken,
cannot be reteieved;
We may say we are sorry,
but forgiveness is hard to receive.
Think before we speak,
this our motto be,
use words to lift others up,
giving them dignity.

A Great Day

Hi my dear friends! Last night was a restless one, one of pain, tossing and turning. My wife said I was preaching and talking a lot. I was dreaming I was at church and words of a song or poem what ever it would be kept running through mind mind and there was no paper or pen to write them down, so here I am writings these words now. They go like this.
There is a great day coming down the road,
In the Bible, I am told,
with no more pain, or sorrow and cares,
there is a great day coming down the road.
There is a great day coming down the road,
there will be no cloudy days,
all will be days of praise,
there is a great day coming down the road.
There is a great day coming down the road,
dear friend, are you ready to go there?
Jesus paid the fare,
receive your ticket now,
I will see you there,
on that great day coming down the road!

Just Browsing

Some times I like to browse let my fingers walk through the pages, as I was browsing I came to two of my favorite Psalms, Psalm 23 and 121. They read as follows:

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

I pray you love these Psalms as much as I do and find comfort for your soul as you read them.

Hi my friends, the rain is beginning to fall and the birds are on my lawn looking for their supper. The red , red robin is a bobbin all over the place, he hops and listens and hops and listens for the sound of the earth worm. He hears a noise of danger and he flies away. We like the robin should be stopping to listen to the sounds of God and when the devil makes a noise to interrupt we like that robin should flee!

Redeemed

The Bible tells us that those who have been redeemed are:
1/ We are the property of God! Isaiah 43:1But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
1 Cor.6:20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2/ We are first fruits unto God! Revelation 14:4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
3/ We are a peculiar people!  Tutus 2:14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
1 Peter 2:9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
4/ We have assurance! Job 19:25For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Psalm 31:5Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
5/ We are sealed! Ephesians 4:30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

these words on my mind.
" Comanche, you fought hard,
Comanche, you tried,
you were a brave soldier,
so hold you head up high".
Christian, you fight hard,
Christian, you try,
there are many battles,
you are on the winning side.
Christian, the war is still raging,

If, As I live

If , as I live, I could become
Immune to beauty's call
And never be affected
By a lovely rose at all;
If I could watch a sunset
And not become inspired
Nor by a burning bush
That autumn flame has fired,
Or have a friend to play me false
And never shed a tear,
And to another friend in pain
I'd turned a deafened ear;
I'm sure, then, I'd suffer less
If all of this were so;
But, if it were, I'd just as well
Have died long years ago.
