Hello world! | Wint68's Blog

Hello world! | Wint68's Blog: "THE CLOUDS
Our lives are like the clouds,
little vapors in the sky,
we hang around awhile,
then we say goodbye.
Our lives are like the clouds,
sometimes all fluffy and white,
some times we have our trials,
like the black clouds at night.
Our lives are like the clouds,
being driven by the wind,
sometimes we are tossed to and fro,
as we fall into sin.
Our lives are like the clouds,
that are controlled by God’s hand,
when we put our trust in Him,
He will guide us across this land.
Our lives are like the clouds,
all beautiful and bright,
floating around the sun,
as it sets at night.
Our lives are like the clouds,
little vapors in the sky,
we hang around awhile,
then we say goodbye.

Hello world! | Wint68's Blog: " WATCH OUT
Watch out for the devil,
the father of lies,
he will sneak up and kick you,
and make your soul cry.
Watch out for the devil,
he will fill you with doubt,
he will use all his power,
to keep God’s light out.
Watch out for the devil,
that deceiver, that fraud,
he will do all he can,
to keep you from God.
Watch out for the devil,
he is lurking, around the bend,
doing all his dirty work,
to his very end.
Cheer up my friends,
there is an answer,
for the devil’s snares;
His name is Jesus,
He loves you and cares.
He shed His blood on Calvary’s tree,
and arose the third day,
so we could be free.
So trust in Jesus, my Redeemer,
and my friend; He will keep you safe,
on Him you can depend.

Roads [ by Winston Staples ] | Wint68's Blog: "Roads: Some roads are long and narrow, some roads have hills dangerously steep, some roads are short and wide, some roads have valleys very deep. All roads have a beginning, all roads have an end; but all roads are not our friend. The Bible speaks of two roads, one narrow and one wide, the wide one leads to destruction, and on this road, everyone’s journey begins. The other road, the straight and narrow, this road is where God wants you to be, this road is entered by knowing Jesus, our one true guide you see. This road leads to Heaven, with Jesus on our side, when we reach Heaven, with God we will abide."

Winston Sr Staples

Winston Sr Staples: "When I awoke this morning three words were on my mind," Then came Jesus", what powerful words. I thought of the poor travelers laying beaten by the world and sin and shame , then came Jesus holding out the hand of love and forgiveness that makes all sinners like me clean. I thought about Lazarus laying four days in his tomb, then came Jesus to set him free from that grave; Jesus sets us free from the power of death. Yes, three powerful words, : then came Jesus"!"

C.S. Lewis Quotes (Author of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe): "“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”

Fall

Today, I took a short walk,

and glanced up into the sky,

watched some fluffy clouds

as they floated by.

Across the stream,

grows a large field of corn,

where the wild geese rest,

in the evening and morn.

Sometimes, I look and listen,

for that wild goose call,

as I stroll on the trail,

where the autumn leaves fall.

NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD

Some folks seem to be offended by singing about the blood and want hymns that sing about the blood of Christ removed. Hymns like, ” Redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb”; There is power in the blood”; ” Alas! And did my Saviour bleed”; ” Saved by the blood of the Crucified One”; ” When I see the blood”; ” My faith has found a resting place”, and many others. Dear folk, if we remove the blood, we remove the gospel; If we remove the blood, we remove our hope; If we remove the blood, we remove the Saviour. We remove His love, His grace and His salvation. Without the shedding of the blood of Jesus, we have no hope of salvation and no hope of Heaven. With out the shedding of the blood of Jesus we have no remission of sins and no hope for mankind. Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.” The shedding of the blood of Jesus purchased our ticket to Heaven!

MINDFUL THINGS

I am sitting,
sitting quietly,
thinking about special things,
how the ticking of the clock,
marks the passing of time,
as our hope,
looks toward a better future,
than the present circumstances
we can leave behind,
I think of the Bible,
the word of God,
and it’s guidance,
as we travel this sod.
I think of my many blessings,
a dear wife,
four dear children,
and five grandchildren,
how they brighten my life.
I think of my friends,
how special they are to me,
you might say,
my extended family.
I think of my God,
the Creator of all things,
the Lord of Lords,
and the King of Kings.
I think of His love,
for a sinner,
a sinner such as I.
I think of how,
He sent His Son Jesus,
to this wicked earth,
to walk, to teach, to die,
that through His blood,
salvation was granted,
to the sinners,
sinners such as I.
I am sitting here thinking,
that one thing,
should always be on my mind,
God’s great love for me,
and His love for all mankind.

Lonely Days

Lonely Days
I sit and gaze,
gaze across the hills,
lying so quiet and still,
longing to hear the phone ring,
and some one laugh,
share encourageing words,
that make my heart sing.
I look out my drive way,
and wonder and say,
why don't a friend call,
or come visit me today?
Sometimes my heart says,
where are you my friends,
do you really care?
Now as I begin to pray,
I hear a small voice say,
I love you, I saved you,
and with you, I will always stay.

NOT  YET

I look up into the sky,

and cry why,

why aren't you coming now,

and I hear Him say,

not yet, not yet,

all my sheep,

are not in the fold today.

I look into the shy,

and say when,

when are you coming again?

Then I hear Him say,

not yet, not yet,

there are still precious sheep,

sheep that are astray.

I look up,

and now bow,

saying thy will be done,

King of Kings, God's only Son!

Purpose in Suffering

If none were sick and none were sad,
What service would we render?
I think if we were always glad,
We scarcely could be tender.

Did our beloved never need
Our patient ministration,
Earth would grow cold, and miss, indeed,
Its sweetest consolation.

If sorrow never claimed our heart,
And every wish were granted,
Patience would die, and
Life would be disenchanted.

Thy Will be Done

He sendeth sun, He sendeth shower;
Alike they're needful for the flower
And joys and tears alike are sent.
To give the soil fit nourishment;
As comes to me or cloud or sun,
"Father, Thy will, not mine, be done!"

Can loving children ever reprove
With murmurs whom they trust and love?
Creator! I would ever be
A trusting, loving child to Thee;
As comes to me or cloud or sun,
" Father, Thy will, not mine, be done!"

Oh! Ne'er will I at life repine!
Enough that Thou hast made it mine;
When falls the shadow cold of death,
I yet will sing with parting breath;
As comes to me or shade or sun,
" Father, Thy will, not mine, be done!"

SOUNDS

SOUNDS
I love the sound, of the morning dove,
when he calls his mate in love;
I love the sound, of the distant loon,
as he sings his mournful tune;
I love the sound, of the gentle breeze,
as it moves and rustles the leaves;
I love the sound, of the falling rain,
as it strikes against the window pane;
I love the sound, of the babbling brook’
as I sit and dangle my hook;
I love the sound, of the lullaby,
as the mother soothes her child’s cry.
I love the sound, all creation gives,
and shouts the news, our creator lives;
I love the sound, of God’s Holy word,
and the great message it gives to be heard,
salvation and great hope for the lost,
comes from God at great cost.
If this great truth they believe,
eternal life they shall receive.
There is a sound, I am waiting for,
the sound of a great shout,
and a trumpets blare,
when the Saints will meet,
Christ in the air;
We will be ushered to Heaven above,
because of His amazing grace and eternal love.

LIFE AT THE POND

Tonight I got on,
the old four wheeler,
and went out the old woods road,
to see the beaver pond,
and how the red pine trees growed.
The pond was alive,
with the sound of nature's band,
the peeping frogs were in the water,
and on the land.
Above a hawk was soaring high,
trying to see his lunch,
from his view from the sky.
The beaver were busy,
busy as can be,
repairing the dam,
to stop the water,
that was running free.
Life was everywhere,
around that beaver pond,
on the water,
on the land,
and in the great beyond.
Everywhere I could hear,
and I could see,
all the beauty,
God had created,
for you,
and for me.

Old Poems!

I love old writings, especially old poems. My mother had an little poem book and I have it now. Today I am sharing one of those poems found it it's pages.

GOD ANSWERS
When we see the birds
all building barnes for store,
it will be time to worry,
and not before!

We know not what each day may bring,
but this we know, our hearts will sing,
for He who gives the days or years,
has power to still our doubts and fears.

And if the way be dark or fair,
we will not doubt, God answers prayer.
Yes, God, who heeds the sparrow's fall,
will always answer when we call.

---  Mrs. Ollie C. Monroe ---

I hope you enjoy this little poem like I do.

AT LAST

At last the long winter is over,
At last spring is here,
I see the robin,
and hear it's song of cheer.
At last the flowers,
stick their being above the warming soil,
and at last the gardener will in the ground,
begin to toil.
At last I hear,
the wild goose call,
and at last I taste spring,
a feed of fiddleheads,
a fresh caught trout.
At last it is spring,
and I can shout,
get the barbecue out!

I wrote this poem about ten years ago from a hospital bed, one Sunday afternoon looking out the window watching the clouds go by.

THE CLOUDS
Our lives are like the clouds,
little vapors in the sky,
we hang around awhile,
then we say goodbye.
Our lives are like the clouds,
sometimes all fluffy and white,
some times we have our trials,
like the black clouds at night.
Our lives are like the clouds,
being driven by the wind,
sometimes we are tossed to and fro,
as we fall into sin.
Our lives are like the clouds,
that are controlled by God’s hand,
when we put our trust in Him,
He will guide us across this land.
Our lives are like the clouds,
all beautiful and bright,
floating around the sun,
as it sets at night.
Our lives are like the clouds,
little vapors in the sky,
we hang around awhile,
then we say goodbye.

OLD POEMS

My mother had a little poem book, she got it from "  Back to The Bible " many years ago. Mother passed into Heaven in 1991 and I have that little book from which I share this poem " God's Desire".

GOD'S DESIRE

The universe belongs to Him;
He made it with His hand---
Worlds, galaxies to man unknown
And every grain of sand.
Contain Him? all the space would fail!
In heaven, He dwells apart---
Yet passionately, He pleads to be
Locked in a human heart.

Beyond the Cross

Jesus takes us beyond the cross,
around God's throne to be,
singing praises to our King,
for eternity.
Jesus takes us beyond the cross,
for in God's word,
I am told,
He became our Savior,
so we could walk,
the streets of gold.
Jesus takes us beyond the cross,
to dwell with our Heavenly Father there,
He will wipe away our tears,
there will be no pain, no sorrow,no care.
Jesus takes us beyond the cross,
because of His love and grace,
so will you put your faith in HIm?
and dwell with Him in this wonderful place.

Little Choruses

I was out to a men's group last night, and we had a good time singing choruses, such as " Through it All" and many others. I am going to share the words of this one with you today.

People Need The Lord

People need the Lord, people need the Lord.

At the end of broken dreams He's the open door.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord.

When we realize that people need the Lord.

February Snow

February Snow

Today is a great day,

a great day you know,

as I look out,

and see light falling snow.

It is a great day,

to get out and walk,

and enjoy the fresh air,

and the soft February snow.

I always have enjoyed,

enjoyed walking in the soft,

slowly falling February snow,

while remembering,

those days long ago,

spent playing in February snow.

HURRY UP SPRING!

I look out my window , and what do I see, snow covered trees, snow everywhere, looking back at me. Yes my heart is yearning for the time of spring,to see the flowers blooming and hearing the birds sing. The first sign of spring here is the return of the robin and it's hopping on any bare spots around. The Robin can appear here anytime after the last of March. Yes I am ready to scream, bring on spring!

Favorite Quotes about Valentines Day

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day.  When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.  ~Author Unknown

Love is a symbol of eternity.  It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end.  ~Author Unknown

Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love.  ~Albert Einstein

Love - a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.  ~Author Unknown

Must, bid the Morn awake!
Sad Winter now declines,
Each bird doth choose a mate;
This day's Saint Valentine's.
For that good bishop's sake
Get up and let us see
What beauty it shall be
That Fortune us assigns.
~Michael Drayton

I love thee - I love thee,
'Tis all that I can say
It is my vision in the night,
My dreaming in the day.

THE TONGUE

The Tongue

” The boneless tongue, so small and weak,
Can crush and kill, ” declares the Greek.
” The tongue destroys a greater horde,”
The Turk asserts, ” than does the sword.”
A Persian proverb wisely said,
” A lengthy tongue– an early death.”
Or sometimes this form instead:
” Don’t let your tongue cut off your head.”
” The tongue can speak a word whose speed,”
The Chinese say, ” outstripes the steed.”
While Arab sages this impart:
” The tongue’s great storehouse is the heart.”
From Hebrew hath this maxim sprung,
” Though feet should slip, ne’er let the tongue.”
The sacred writer crowns the whole,
” Who keeps his tongue doth keep his soul!”
— Philip B. Strong

JESUS SAID

JESUS SAID

The I Am’s of Jesus  as Jesus said continued: John10:7-9.
7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. Jesus said, “I Am the door”.  John 10:11,14.11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.  Jesus said,” I Am the good shepherd”.  John 10:25.25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  Jesus said,” I Am the resurrection and life”.   John 14:6.6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  Jesus said,” I Am the way, the truth, and the life” .  John 15:1,5   1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.                       5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  Jesus said ,” I Am the true vine”.   So let us as His followers, be good little branches and cling to the true vine!

FORGET-ME-NOT

When I was young my mother sent to " BACK TO THE BIBLE BROADCAST" for a book of poems and I found that little book and here is a poem I am going to share with you, it is called " THE LEGEND OF THE FORGET-ME-NOT"

THE LEGEND OF THE FORGET-ME-NOT

When to the flowers so beautiful

The Father gave a name,

There came a little blue-eyed one---

All timidly it came---

And standing at the Father's feet,

And gazing in His face,

It said with low and timid voice,

And yet with gentle grace,

" Dear Lord, the name Thou gavest me,

Alas, I have forgot."

The father kindly looked on him

And said, " Forget-me-not."

Spiritual Good News

Psalms 1

The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted.

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.

Forever

I learn as the years roll onward
And leave the past behind,
That much I have counted sorrow
But proves our God is kind;
That many a flower I longed for
Had a hidden thorn of pain,
And many a rugged by-path
Led to fields of ripened grain.

Thursday, January 3, 2013

Hi my friends! As I have written before, I love reading things from the past, such as old books written by godly men, they are a key to our wisdom and understanding. I was reading some old " Daily Bread"booklets and this one dated Jan.3/1994 reads like this:

The Steinway piano has been preferred by keyboard masters such as Rachmaninoff, Horowitz, Cliburn, and Liszt—and for good reason. It is a skillfully crafted instrument that produces phenomenal sound.
Steinway pianos are built today the same way they were 140 years ago when Henry Steinway started his business. Two hundred craftsmen and 12,000 parts are required to produce one of these magnificent instruments. Most crucial is the rim-bending process, where 18 layers of maple are bent around an iron press to create the shape of a Steinway grand. Five coats of lacquer are applied and hand-rubbed to give the piano its outer glow. The instrument then goes to the Pounder Room, where each key is tested 10,000 times to ensure quality and durability.
Followers of Jesus Christ are also being “handcrafted.” We are pressed and formed and shaped to make us more like Him. We are polished, sometimes in the rubbing of affliction, until we “glow.” We are tested in the laboratory of everyday human experience. The process is not always pleasant, but we can persevere with hope, knowing that our lives will increasingly reflect the beauty of holiness to the eternal praise of God.
Think About It
Is God bending, shaping, or polishing me right now? What’s my attitude: Am I thanking and praising God, or am I complaining about the process?

I trust you enjoy these readings from the past as much as I do, Happy New Year!
