This Old Swing

 MY OLD SWING!

I sit here and sing,

on this nice old swing,

and wonder what stories,

we could tell,

and what songs we could sing.

My dear departed wife,

Oh, how she loved,

this old swing;

I would go to the door,

and listen to her sing,

as she enjoyed the fine day,

rocking to and fro,

on this old swing.

I sit here now,

two months have passed bye,

somedays I smile and sing,

other days I cry,

as I remember those good times,

we spent and talked,

on this old swing.

On this old swing,

she would sit and sing,

"Amazing Grace"

and " Just asI Am";

she loved to listen,

and sing along,

with her favorite song,

"It is noe secret what God can do,

what He has done for others,

He can do for you".

Yes, I sit here,

with a sad feeling in my heart,

but 57 years together,

I thank God, she shared my heart;

this old swing is special to me,

because of the time spent,

brings precious memories to me;

and I sing to my God,

" How Great Thou Art",

as I enjoy this  old swing.

JUST THINKING!

 I walked slowly,

out to the old swing,

with the help,

help of my two trusty canes.

There I sat,

letting the wind,

cool off my brain;

While I gazed up,

seeing the clear blue sky,

many questions,

rushed through my mind;

the main one was why!

Then a song from the past,

sounded clearly in my mind,

” The answer my friend,

is blowing in the wind,

the answer is blowing in the wind.”

This is true,

the Bible refers,

to the Holy Spirit,

as the Wind,

and if we tune in,

to the Holy Spirit,

He has the answer!

A NICE DAY!

I awakened,

to a beautiful sunny morn,

I saw the sun rays,

shining on the corn,

it's reflection nice and bright,

after a long restless night.

It's reflection pictures,

how the children of God,

children of God should be,

a lot of little lights,

giving praise and glory,

to God's only begotten SON!

JUST THINKING!

As I look over the hill,

the fog is settling in,

much like the day,

Satan caused mankind to sin.

I walked in the fog,

the fog called sin,

for sixteen years,

then one night a light shone,

the light of God’s word,

began to light up my heart,

and the Holy Spirit convicted me,

yes, pointed out my sin.

God’s word says,

only one way to Heaven,

and only one way to HIM;

that is through the shed blood,

as Jesus hung on Calvary’s tree,

providing redemption for me.

So, I cried,

Oh, Jesus I am a sinner,

please give salvation to me,

and a place in Heaven,

with the Saints before me.

A FAVORITE PSALMS!

Psalm 10 King James Version (KJV)

10 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

JUST THINKING!

IT IS 5 AM,
MY LEGS ARE ON FIRE,
MY HIP WON'T TURN,
SO I SLOWLY RISE,
AND GO TO MY DEN,
PICK UP SOME PAPER
AND BEGAN TO WRITE,
WRITE WORDS WITH,
THIS OLD PEN.

THE MOON IS BRIGHT,
IT REFLECTS THE SUN,
AND LIGHTS UP THE NIGHT.
I SEND SOME EMAILS
TO MY FRIENDS,
AND STAY SAFE,
UNTIL THIS VIRUS PASSES,
SO WE CAN GET OUT,
TO SEE THE FLOWERS,
AND BEAUTIFUL GREEN GRASS,
I MOURN FOR THOSE,
SOULS WHO HAVE PASSED,
PRAYING THEY WERE READY,
TO MAKE IT TO HEAVEN,
AND LIVE IN PEACE,
AND NOT WHERE ,
THE TORMENTS NEVER CEASE.
SO MY PRAYER IS FOR THOSE,
WHO KNOW NOT CHRIST,
THAT WHILE THEY CAN SPEAK,
WHOULD ASK FORGIVENESS
FROM THEIR CREATOR,
THE ONE WHO CAN SAVE THEM,
TO GIVE THEM PERFECT PEACE,
AND PERFECT REST,
AND TO BE ETERNALLY BLEST!

Faith 3

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Faith continued: Gal.2:20—-I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Saints are to live by faith in Christ!
Romans 11:20; 2 Cor.1:24— Saints stand by faith!
Romans 4:12; 2 Cor.5:7— We are to walk with steps of faith!
Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death. ~Author Unknown
Faith continued: Matt.21:22; James 1:6—
James 1:6 (New King James Version)
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Faith is necessary in prayers being answered!
John 10:26-27— Those without faith are without Christ!
1 John 5:1– Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. Faith is evidence of new life in Christ! Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. ~Martin Luther King Jr
John 10:25 ; 12:37 ; Acts 19:9 ; 2 Thessalonians 3:2—- Unbelievers do not have this great thing called faith, only those who are walking in the light of God’s word!
Faith is illustrated as:
*A shield
Ephesians 6:16
*A breastplate
1 Thessalonians 5:8
Some Bible greats of faith: Caleb, Num. 13:30. Job, Job 19:25. Shadrach, . Dan. 3:17. Daniel, Dan. 6:10, 23. Peter, Mat. 16:16. Woman who was a sinner,Luke 7:50. Nathaniel, John. 1:49. Samaritans, Jno. 4:39. Martha, John. 11:27. The Disciples, John. 16:30. Thomas, John. 20:28. Stephen, Acts 6:5.Priests, Acts 6:7. Ethiopian, Acts 8:37. Barnabas, Acts 11:24. Sergius Paulus, Acts 13:12. Philippine jailer, Acts 16:31, 34. Romans, Rom. 1:8. Colossians, Col. 1:4. Thessalonians, 1 The. 1:3. Lois, 2 Tim. 1:5. Paul, 2 Tim. 4:7. Abel, Heb. 11:4. Enoch, Heb. 11:5. Noah, Heb. 11:7. Abraham,Heb. 11:8, 17. Isaac, Heb. 11:20. Jacob, Heb. 11:21. Joseph, Heb. 11:22. Moses, Heb. 11:24, 27. Rah ab, Heb. 11:31. Gideon &c. Heb. 11:32, 33, 39. This concludes our brief look at faith I trust you have enjoyed and have a little more faith!
Romans 14:22-23 (New King James Version)
22 Do you have faith?[a] Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.[b]
All things should be done in faith!
1 Peter 1:6,7— Our faith is often tested by affliction!
James 1:3 (New King James Version)
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
At the point where hope would otherwise become hopelessness, it becomes faith. ~Robert Brault

Faith 2

Faith continued: 2 Tim.1:12; Hebrews 10:22.
Hebrews 10:22— let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
A true heart in full assurance of our faith.
James 2:21-25—- Doing good works is an evidence of our faith.
James 2:17,20,26– without fruit faith is dead.

1 Cor.16:13— we are to be strong in our faith.
Col.1:23 states we are to be grounded or rooted in our faith.
1 Timothy 1:19–having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, we are to hold firm to our faith with a good conscience.
Luke 17:5— we are to pray for our faith to increase.
Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered. And lo, no one was there. ~Author Unknown
Acts 11:2o-21(New King James Version)
20 But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
When some had heard and through faith excepted the news about Jesus they were converted. Faith leads to conversion!
Hebrews 12:1-2 (New King James Version)
Hebrews 12
The Race of Faith
1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Jesus the Christ is the author and finisher of our faith!

2For by it the elders obtained a good report. Faith is a main building block in our salvation and our spiritual growth!

Hebrews 11:13 (New King James Version)
The Heavenly Hope
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them,[a] embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. We have our faith that we will receive God’s promises through our hope in Christ.

TODAY'S BIBLE VERSE!

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 4:10,12 KJV

LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER!

I look back over my shoulder,
And wonder where the years quickly went;
It seems like yesterday, that I was fourteen,
slowly walking down a country road,
To visit my best friend who with him,
So much wonderful and joy filled time,
Yes, joy filled time was spent.
It seems like yesterday when I said Yes,
A very important yes to Jesus,
When the invitation was given,
I decided to follow Jesus, the only way to Heaven.
So now as the years pass quickly bye,
I rejoice with the Saints as we wait,
Patiently wait to be taken,
To our mansion in the sky.
Oh, come and sing with me,
A favorite song ” In The Sweet Bye And Bye”.

WAITING FOR SPRING!

WAITING FOR SPRING!

thCAZGXVPP
The March wind blows,
blows hard from the West,
and the sun shines bright,
yes, bright through the old pine,
that stands tall before me.
As this cold wind blows,
it may be bring a little snow,
the last snow before Spring.
I am hoping, and waiting,
for it to come soon,
so I can hear the sparrows sing,
also hear my favorite bird;
the first robin to return,
and sit on the wires,
and sing, sing, sing,
cheer up, it’s Spring, Spring, Spring!

A GREAT PASSAGE OF SCRITURE!

Philippians 4:1-9 King James Version (KJV)

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

When the Horses Ride

GOD IS GOOD!

God is good,
God is kind,
God made the universe,
God made it good,
God made all the good things,
He made them for His pleasure;
He made them for you and me.
God gave us grace when we fell,
He sent His Son to save us from hell.
He sent Jesus to live among men,
He went to die on Calvary's cross,
And the third day arise again.
Through faith in Him,
And His finished work at Calvary,
We who believe over sin  have victory!

JUST THINKING!

Today started out sunny
but has now quickly,
quickly clouded over,
a light rain is beginning,
beginning to softly fall,
and in the whispering,
whispering pines,
a crow says caw, caw, caw.
Oh, how I love God's creation,
no matter where you go,
God's creation is there;
He offers us His love,
His grace to save,
save us from our sin;
if we call,
call upon Jesus,
who shed His precious,
cleansing blood,
on the old rugged cross,
setting us free,
and out of the lost.
