EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [9] – Wint68's Blog

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [9] – Wint68's Blog: "The topic we are looking at in God’s word is PAUL’S SUFFERING.

Get your Bible and as we read mark the words that speak to you.

Acts 14:19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. [Paul suffered greatly as each stone struck his body and when they thought he was dead they threw him in the garbage dump.]

Acts 16:22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. [ beaten because of his belief and message.]

2 Cor.11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? [ terrible perils Paul suffered for preaching the GOSPEL.]

2 Cor.12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Galatians 4:13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus."

The topic we are going to briefly explore is God’s discipline by reading these few verses

as recorded in the Bible.

UNDERLINE THE WORDS OR PHRASES THAT SPEAK TO YOU IN YOUR BIBLE!

Job 5: 17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

Psalms 39: 10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.12 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

Psalms 94: 11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

Proverbs 3: 11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. [ GOD LOVES THOSE HE CORRECTS ]

Wishing you many blessings my friends!

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [2] – Wint68's Blog

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [2] – Wint68's Blog: "In this writing we will explore what God’s word states about encouraging others.

As followers of Christ we should be an encouragement to others.
Ezra 5:1-2New International Version (NIV)

Tattenai’s Letter to Darius
5 Now Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the prophet, a descendant of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them. 2 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.
Acts 11:22 News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.25 Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul,
Acts 14:20 But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders[a] for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.
1 Cor.14:3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.
1 Thess. 5:9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."

September 2016 – Wint68's Blog

September 2016 – Wint68's Blog: "FLUFFY CLOUDS!
Standard

Fluffy clouds,

floating everywhere,

sailing quickly,

quietly through the air.

They move,

from the North,

to the South,

quickly they go,

driven by the North wind,

to and fro.

O, how I love,

to lay and watch,

those fluffy clouds,

go floating bye,

in God’s baby blue sky."

Fall – jake70

Fall – jake70: "Today I took a short walk,

and glanced up into the sky,

watched some fluffy clouds,

as they floated by.

Across the stream,

grows a large field of corn,

there the wild goose rests,

in the evening and morn.

Sometimes, I look and listen,

for that wild goose call,

as I stroll on the trail,

where the autumn leaves fall."
