Just Thinking!

As we drove,
around a country block,
enjoying the scenery,
along the way;
The little whitetails,
standing in the ditch;
nature so beautifully,
beautifully displayed.
We saw ridges,
covered with hardwoods,
and different shades,
beautiful shades of greens.
As I drove,
and saw these creations;
Thank you Father,
came into my mind,
as it should.

JUST THINKING!

I sit,
looking up the road,
to the place,
where I was born;
The house is
no longer there.
Another family,
enjoys the space,
and the fresh air;
I lived,loved,
and played,
on that land.
I fished the brook,
sat up in a deer stand,
we cut wood,
rank it in a shed,
with our dad,
on that land.
The wood would dry,
and soon burn,
in the old stove,
to cook our food,
and keep our bones warm.
I miss that old home,
living with mom and dad,
and two brothers,
what special lads.
Thank you Father,
for that home,
and thanks for my brothers,
and the best mom and dad.

JUST THINKING!

Just Thinking!
The day was dreary,
the day was grey,
a heavy mist falling,
as we walked our way.
Just a little further,
further down the trail,
the sun burst through,
parting the clouds,
bringing it's light,
and it's warmth,
to me and to you.
Once my spirit was dreary,
once it was grey,
then I met Jesus,
and I began to pray,
then He washed my dirty sins,
and took them all away.

JUST THINKING!

Reading in the book of John,
about the miracles Jesus did,
as He walked His way;
He healed the lame, the deaf,
the blind and showed compassion,
and love for mankind.

MIND WALKING!

I walked,
in the sunshine today,
enjoying the flowers,
blooming along my way.
The sky so blue,
the clouds so fluffy,
fluffy and white,
Oh, so peaceful,
after a long sleepless night.
Thank you Lord,
for giving to me,
these sounds to hear,
and sights to see!

April | 2017 | Wint68's Blog: "THE DAY BETWEEN!

It is the day,

between Good Friday,

and Easter Sunday,

a quiet day,

no family around,

I sit and watch,

the snow melt,

and run into the ground.

It was the day,

between Good Friday,

and Easter Sunday,

all of Christ’s followers,

were feeling so sad,

because they lost,

the best friend they had.

They thought,

He was dead you see,

the one,

that would,

set their souls free.

April | 2017 | Wint68's Blog: "EXPLORING GOD’S WORD 52d

Atonement continued: His atonement exhibits the Love of God.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.    1 John 4: 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Psalms 63: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

*His atonement exhibits the Love of Christ.

John 15: 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.    Galatians 2: 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.   Eph.5: 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

*His atonement Reconciles the Justice and Mercy of God.

Isa.45: 21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.        Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  Revelations 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Thanks

Birdie, birdie,
in the maple tree,
thanks for tweeting
your sweet song to me.
Flowers, flowers everywhere,
adding more color,
to the grass they share;
thanks for your beauty,
your perfume to others share.
Creation, creation all about,
your lakes and rivers,
full of trout;
thanks Father,
for your creation about,
and as I marvel at it,
I want to shout;
Glory to God,
in the highest,
Who gives His Grace,
to those who believe
and those that doubt.

Many times,

I have moved in my life,

since I have met my dear wife.

We have moved,

from here to there,

and back again,

each time making friends.

There is a move,

I am waiting for,

to settle there,

and move no more,

to meet my loved ones,

in a place,

with no sorrow, no pain or cares.

Heaven, will be this home,

where we will no longer,

no longer roam."

November 2010 – Wint68's Blog: "True Love: they say, love is a many splendor thing, it can make the feet dance and your heart sing. True love can begin a new life, without love, that new life, can be snuffed out, by a surgeon’s knife. God loved us, by sending His Son, and through His love, death, and resurrection, eternal life for us was won. Loving one another, is the greatest commandment, according to God’s word, love gives greater victory, than using a sword. Let’s love one another, with smiles on our face, loving one another and thanking God for His grace. ~ Winston Staples"

Hello world! – Wint68's Blog

Hello world! – Wint68's Blog: "Our Cabins

When my wife and I go for drives in the country, we are delighted

when we see a lovely log cabin. The view of these lovely cabins

takes me back in my thoughts to the pioneer days. The pioneers

traveled far, traveled slow and worked hard. Their cabins were not

fancy or brightly painted, there was no landscaping done, no lawns

to mow; that might have been a good thing. They built their cabins

by the sweat of their brow. These cabins were not much by our

standards today but to them it was their castle; it was their life

or death in the harsh winter. Yes, they were hard working people,

people with high moral standards, standards which this country

was built on. We, as a nation need to return to and use these

moral standards today; let God fill our cabins with His love and

build our country on that. Let us put our faith in Jesus and He will

build us a home in Heaven, not a simple cabin but a mansion.

We read in 2 Cor.5:1 ” For we know that if our earthly house of

this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house

not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Exploring Wisdom!

In order to withstand the fiery darts of Satan,
we must put on the whole armor of God, with prayer and the wisdom found in God's word. What are some things the Bible says about wisdom? Let's look at the following verses for insight and let our motto be that we think before we speak.
*Psalms 119:97 O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
102 I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
*

Proverbs 1:20-23Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Wisdom’s Plea

20 Wisdom calls out in the street;
she raises her voice in the public squares.(A)
21 She cries out above[a] the commotion;
she speaks at the entrance of the city gates:
22 “How long, foolish ones, will you love ignorance?
How long will you mockers(B) enjoy mocking
and you fools hate knowledge?(C)
23 If you respond to my warning,[b](D)
then I will pour out my spirit on you(E)
and teach you my words.

Proverbs 2:3-6English Standard Version (ESV)
yes, if you call out for insight
    and raise your voice (A)for understanding,
if you seek it like (B)silver
    and search for it as for (C)hidden treasures,
then (D)you will understand the fear of the Lord
    and find the knowledge of God.
For (E)the Lord gives wisdom;
    from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
*4:Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

November 2010 – Wint68's Blog

November 2010 – Wint68's Blog: "Roads: Some roads are long and narrow,some roads have hills dangerously steep, some roads are short and wide, some roads have valleys very deep. All roads have a beginning, all roads have an end; but all roads are not our friend. The Bible speaks of two roads, one narrow and one wide, the wide one leads to destruction, and on this road, everyone’s journey begins. The other road, the straight and narrow, this road is where God wants you to be, this road is entered by knowing Jesus, our one true guide you see. This road leads to Heaven, with Jesus on our side, when we reach Heaven, with God we will abide."

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [44] – Wint68's Blog

EXPLORING GOD’S WORD [44] – Wint68's Blog: "Topic of today’s observation is TRUSTING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.

In my 75 years on this planet, I have went through so many difficult times as I am sure all of you have. One thing that has been difficult is dealing with chronic pain since 1965. God has been my redeemer and my refuge and strength in all my difficulties. What do the following Bible verses say about God’s presence in our difficult times.

Psalms 27: 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.  10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2 Timothy 1:11-12King James Version (KJV)

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Wint68's Blog: "DAY BY DAY Day by day, I think about Jesus, about what He has done for me, how he came to earth, to bare my sins on Calvary’s tree. Day by day, I think about Jesus, who in heaven, our home prepares, because of His love and grace, many people will live up there. Day by day, I think about Jesus, victory over Satan did win, and because of that victory, we can be saved from sin. Day by day, I think about Jesus, how He is the Lord of Lords, and King of Kings, and as His children, His praises we should forever sing. Day by day, I think about Jesus, how He came to set me free, Oh! how much I love Him, because He first loved me. Day by day, I think about Jesus, and all He has done for me, then, I want to serve Him faithfully. Day by day, I think about Jesus, Oh! what He means to me, He is my hope, joy and liberty. Day by day, I think about Jesus, Oh! what he can do for you, Jesus wants to save your soul, then day by day, you can think, about Jesus too! –~ Winston staples"

poem – Wint68's Blog: "ATTITUDES

Is your attitude a thankful one?

or do you grumble and complain?

Is your attitude a serving one?

or when asked to serve,

you pass to anothers name.

Is your attitude a loving one?

or is self first in life’s game?

Is your attitude a prayerful one?

do you seldom call upon God’s name?

Is your attitude one of sharing?

or do you show very little caring?

These negative attitudes,

are not God’s plan,

they are the attitudes of selfish man

My best friend Jake [ by Winston Staples ] – Wint68's Blog

My best friend Jake [ by Winston Staples ] – Wint68's Blog: "It is early in the morning; I can not sleep, and as I lie here, I think about my best friend Jake. When I was a young lad, probably about eight, when I went to school, I met my best friend Jake. In the summer, we would fish, and go swimming in the lake, and in the winter, I would be found skating on a pond,with my best friend Jake. We did everything together, as we grew through our teens; We harvested crops, went to school and out grew our jeans. We gave a helping hand to others in need, me, and my best friend Jake. Jake is gone now, since 1968; He lost his life in a man made lake; now some mornings, as I lie here and meditate; I often think about, my best friend Jake.
