Autumn!

I awakened to a wonderful day,

the sun shining, breeze blowing;

changing leaves are showing their colours,

through the evergreens everywhere.

Soon the brightness of Autumn,

beautiful Autumn will be everywhere;

Much like God's presence is everywhere,

we actually cannot see Him,

but in His creation,the mighty hand,

yes, powerful hand of God is clearly seen.

That is why in past writings I wrote,

words like "God is near"and "My God is real",

because He is in all creation,

and when we see love for fellow men,

we see God because He is love,

1 John chapter four verses seven through eleven,

and in verse eighteen we are told,

there is no fear in love, so let's walk,

and talk with Jesus leading by His Holy Spirit.

Now let's turn to chapter five and meditate,

study verses one through four, where we,

are encouraged to be over comers in faith,

yes,our faith in Christ; OH,what a glorious day,

that Fall day in nineteen and fifty-eight,

when Jesus by His precious blood,

redeemed my lost soul. So, everyday,

let's take time to read His word,

and enter our closet and pray;

saying Thank you Heavenly Father,

for all your blessings to give us,

in the good times and those in our strife;

but most of all for your gift of Eternal life.

Yes, my friend, when Satan plants doubt,

get the word of God out and read,

the book of Colossians and take heed,

that God, Jesus the Christ created all things,

and in Him all things consist.

What Christ means to Me!

Christ is the only Son of God, He is my guide as I travel this sod. Christ is  my shelter in the rain and my strength in pain. He is my light, when the world seems so dark, and when I am down, and feeling low, to the comfort of Christ, I can go. Christ gives me, mercy and grace, and on the cross, He took my place, by His blood, He redeemed my soul, and by His Spirit, He controls. Christ is my Savior, and my friend, a friendship that will never end. I am looking toward that day, when Christ will wipe my tears and pain away. This is what Christ means to me,  He is my friend and Savior, for all eternity!

FAVOURITE BIBLE VERSES!

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

A FAVOURITE PSALM!

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

BE ON GUARD!

WATCH OUT
Watch out for the devil,
the father of lies,
he will sneak up and kick you,
and make your soul cry.
Watch out for the devil,
he will fill you with doubt,
he will use all his power,
to keep God’s light out.
Watch out for the devil,
that deceiver, that fraud,
he will do all he can,
to keep you from God.
Watch out for the devil,
he is lurking, around the bend,
doing all his dirty work,
to his very end.
Cheer up my friends,
there is an answer,
for the devil’s snares;
His name is Jesus,
He loves you and cares.
He shed His blood on Calvary’s tree,
and arose the third day,
so we could be free.
So trust in Jesus, my Redeemer,
and my friend; He will keep you safe,
on Him you can depend.

words

WORDS
words are special,
powerful indeed,
they can sooth a broken heart,
when positive words we feed.
Words spoken wisely,
help heal broken souls;
words guide our foot steps,
as we walk toward our goals.
Words spoken carelessly.
wound innocent hearts;
once spoken,
cannot be retrieved;
We may say we are sorry,
but forgiveness is hard to receive.
Think before we speak,
this our motto be,
use words to lift others up,
giving them dignity.

Pondering!

 Today is another beautiful day God has given us; Sometimes we look around and enjoy the beauty of His creation so much and forget His love, grace and mercy for each of us and His desire to fellowship with us. When I think about God's mercy Psalm 136 comes to mind anI share it now.

136 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Bible Verses for Today!

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

THE HAWK!

THE HAWK!

I see an old hawk,

perched in an old maple tree,

standing tall like I used to be.

That old hawk looks to an fro,

trying to decide,

what direction to go; it’s eyes,

slowly scans the grass below,

seeking to see lunch,

and down it will go.

We as sinners are like that hawk;

We scan worldly things,

our desires to fulfill,

seeking something for happiness,

and seeing what’s over the next hill.

I was like that, then one fall,

a special preacher came to call.

He spoke from God’s word,

about Heaven and Hell,

and if I should die where would I dwell?

The next evening when the invitation,

call to come to the front was given;

I decided to follow Jesus,

the only way to Heaven.

Since that night in 1958,

I like that old hawk scanned for food;

I scan God’s word everyday to find wisdom,

and ask His Holy Spirit to guide my steps

safely along life’s highway.

Thank you Jesus for giving to me,

Your Great Salvation so free!

149 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

150 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

SONSHINE!

Many dark clouds

Are in the sky today.

Soon the sky will clear,

The sun will drive

Those dark clouds away.

Someone’s life,

May be stormy today,

Their soul dark,

Their spirit gray;

God wants their heart,

Their heart to be clear

And to know He is near.

He wants them to invite

His Son, Jesus to come in,

So the soul will rejoice,

In the SON SHINE

Forever with Him.

A TIME TO MEDITATE!

 Looking out my window,

on this beautiful Sunday morning,

clouds are few in the baby blue sky,

God's sun is beaming down,

melting the snow from the ground.

My thoughts wonder off,

into spiritual thoughts;

these words come into mind,

O, there is a place I long to be,

where there are no bad storms;

no tornadoes, blizzards or rain,

only cloudless blue skies we see;

A place without sorrow and pain.

only Christ and His faithful followers,

those washed in the blood of the LAMB;

A land without heartaches and cares.

Thank you Father for your word,

and teaching us to praise you and pray.

Thank you for saving our souls,

by your once and only perfect sacrifice at Calvary!

Thank you for answering our prayers,

and guiding our steps on the highway,

straight beautiful road to Heaven,

and praise God, we soon will be there!

We love you and want to serve you,

and look at your wonderful face;

made possible by God's amazing Grace.

O, thank you for victory as we finish the race!

Walk of Remembrance

The Walk of Remembrance

I walked into the woods that day, wondering what I might see, I just got over the knoll and I saw ten white tailed deer in a small cedar grove; They had their ears standing straight trying to figure out what I might be. In an old maple tree a woodpecker tapped a tune for me; There were two crows perched on a high branch keeping a watch on me. Caw, caw, caw, they proclaimed as they fly away. Off to my right a Nuthatch crept upside down, showing off for the woodpecker and chick -a- dees. Over my head a large hawk was soaring in circles, it's keen eyes searching below to see something for lunch. As I watch nature's beauty my mind travels back to the book of Genesis where God spoke all these things into being, except mankind, mankind was moulded by God's hands from the dust on the ground and God breathed life into man. I stood in awe of all these beautiful things around me that God made for us to enjoy, then I bent down and gave thanks unto God the Creator. God loves us and when we fall He picks us up and dusts us off. When we fall, we must repent and ask God to forgive. About 2000 years ago God's only begotten Son Jesus went to the hill called Mount Calvary and hung on an old wooden cross and shed His precious blood to wash our sin away giving freedom from sin when we ask Him to save our soul. Oh, what a Saviour!

~Winston Staples

Special Morning!

 I woke up blurry eyed,

I saw a beautiful sunny morning,

as I looked outside;

a special morning to kneel,

on our knees and pray.

I thank Him for His Salvation;

I thank Him for His Holy Spirit,

that guides us through our day.

The snow is beginning to melt,

soon the green grass will grow;

God will send the song birds,

to sing for you and me.

O, how I love to hear,

the robins sing, cheer up,cheer up,

wake up and enjoy spring.

So let's rejoice in God's Salvation plan,

through His Son's finished work,

as He hanged on the tree;

baring yours and my sin.

Yes, we are washed clean,

by the precious blood of Jesus,

God's only begotten Son.

By believing in Christ's death, burial and resurrection;

We have life for eternity, O, what a VICTORY!

GOD'S SONSHINE!

 February is quickly passing,

and the sun shines brighter everyday,

the days are getting longer;

giving us more time to see God's creation.

I watch the squirrels, woodpeckers and chick-a-dees,

as they come and feast across the way.

It is about two months to Easter,

the week end we remember the ransom,

God paid for our sin.

God's only SON hung on that old rugged cross,

and took on our sin by shedding HIS precious blood,

that washes us whiter than snow.

Thank you my Heavenly Father,

for sending Jesus to ransom us,

and to share your victory over sin and death.

Thank you Jesus for your sunshine,

that comes flooding through the dark clouds,

those clouds of sin and gloom,

giving victory over Satan,sin and tomb.

Psalms for today!

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

122 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.

For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

123 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

124 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Psalms for Today!

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
