Poem

If
If the sun were always shining
And the skies were always blue,
And the flowers always blooming
And the trees a bright green hue;
If the mourn were always cheerful
And the nights were all clear and bright,
And the birds were always singing
Never needing to take flight;
We would soon grow tired and weary
And oft complain and sigh,
For we'd miss the lovely rainbow
That God put in the sky.
Yes, we'd miss the rain and shadow
And fleecy clouds of white,
We'd miss the stars and moonlight
And winters chilling bite.
Then we'd never know the rapture
Of the first snow of the year,
Nor the shout of happy youngsters
Yelling," Whoopee! winters here."
If we could have all our wishes
Come true at our command,
Soon we'd want to change things back
To the way that God has planned.
