FALLING LEAVES!

 It is the last day of September,

the leaves are changing colour fast,

they are so pretty on the hillsides around,

colours of red, orange, yellow and bronze.

With the next rain and wind,

they will surely all fall to the ground.

Just like the multi- coloured leaves,

We Christians are multi- coloured,

multi- sized and like the leaves seen;

sharing God's pure and preserved words,

on the highways and byways all around.

In Churches, schools,

and court yards everywhere,

and they can hear the gospel message,

and believe it and be saved,

yes, saved for eternity,

and the power of the grave.

A PSALM FOR TODAY!

130 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.

Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

Dark Shadows!

 When my brother and I were young,

We were blessed with a great older brother,

And a loving mom and dad;

We would get home from school,

And we would do our chores,

We would walk to our friends house,

And after he got his chores done,

We would play some games outside;

Oh, how we loved the outdoors.

It would be getting dark,

Before we would walk back home,

And we would imagine things not there ;

Those dark shadows became a bobcat or a bear.

In our spiritual life Satan castes,

Dark shadows on our trail,

Like the ones we saw at night,

Twisting God’s words saying,

Did God really say that?

He wants us to fall off the right path;

So beware of Satan’s dark shadows,

And focus on God’s words,

And you will be all right!

I remember a song,

“ Evening shadows make me blue “.

My friend, spend time reading God’s words,

And spend time in prayer,

And this won’t happen to you!

Days of When!

 I sit with pen in hand,

Remembering back,

In the days of when;

When I loved to run,

A mile in four minutes ten,

Play hockey and ball,

Pick potatoes and hunt in the fall;

I get lonely for the folks

Sweet pleasant folks,

Of those days of when.

When Sunday was respected by all,

We heard the Church bell ring,

People from all around,

Answer the call.

Their Bibles were read,

The choir would sing;

The Preacher gave a message,

And an Altar call,

Oh, to enjoy that that again,

Back in the days of when.

We were able to read,

God’s Words altogether,

The words were all the same,

Wonderful words in unison,

As they read from their King James!

Oh, how special,

Back in the days of when!

WATCHING!

 Here I am watching again,

sitting still, watching traffic,

on the 104,

 and the birds at the feeders,

and flying to trees and back again.

My mind slips into another gear,

when I was small,

and Aunt Annie lived here.

On Sunday a man came,

and he sit on the porch,

with binoculars he made,

watching the hill for a deer.

Aunt Annie love people,

and her neighbours to drop in,

have a cup of tea,

and maybe some cookies for me,

My Grand Parents lived across the road,

enjoying their family,

and watching them as they growed.

I miss them all; I would love to see them again;

I know most believed in Christ,

and they are with the Savior,

and waiting for us to join them up there.

I sit and watch the clouds float by,

and my ears are listening,

for sounds in the sky;

because one day soon in the clouds,

our Redeemer will appear,rr

and a trumpet will sound,

O, what sweet music to my ears.

So dear friend,

I ask this from you,

Do you believe in Jesus?

His life, His cross, His death,

His resurrection and His ascending?

Then come and watch with me,

up into the clouds, watching for our Redeemer,

and hear that trumpet sound,

and as our feet leave the ground,

and with others we will meet Him in the air.

So come and keep looking,

for His wonderful appearing in the air,

never more to be lonely, no pain,sorrow or care;

but eternal security in Christ,

because people believed and prayed,

placing us in their family, beautiful family of God to stay!

Autumn!

I awakened to a wonderful day,

the sun shining, breeze blowing;

changing leaves are showing their colours,

through the evergreens everywhere.

Soon the brightness of Autumn,

beautiful Autumn will be everywhere;

Much like God's presence is everywhere,

we actually cannot see Him,

but in His creation,the mighty hand,

yes, powerful hand of God is clearly seen.

That is why in past writings I wrote,

words like "God is near"and "My God is real",

because He is in all creation,

and when we see love for fellow men,

we see God because He is love,

1 John chapter four verses seven through eleven,

and in verse eighteen we are told,

there is no fear in love, so let's walk,

and talk with Jesus leading by His Holy Spirit.

Now let's turn to chapter five and meditate,

study verses one through four, where we,

are encouraged to be over comers in faith,

yes,our faith in Christ; OH,what a glorious day,

that Fall day in nineteen and fifty-eight,

when Jesus by His precious blood,

redeemed my lost soul. So, everyday,

let's take time to read His word,

and enter our closet and pray;

saying Thank you Heavenly Father,

for all your blessings to give us,

in the good times and those in our strife;

but most of all for your gift of Eternal life.

Yes, my friend, when Satan plants doubt,

get the word of God out and read,

the book of Colossians and take heed,

that God, Jesus the Christ created all things,

and in Him all things consist.

What Christ means to Me!

Christ is the only Son of God, He is my guide as I travel this sod. Christ is  my shelter in the rain and my strength in pain. He is my light, when the world seems so dark, and when I am down, and feeling low, to the comfort of Christ, I can go. Christ gives me, mercy and grace, and on the cross, He took my place, by His blood, He redeemed my soul, and by His Spirit, He controls. Christ is my Savior, and my friend, a friendship that will never end. I am looking toward that day, when Christ will wipe my tears and pain away. This is what Christ means to me,  He is my friend and Savior, for all eternity!
